Faisalabad police on high alert

District Coordination Officer (DCO) Najam Ahmad Shah has directed the district police to beef up security in the district after a bomb exploded in a bogey of Shalimar Express at Toba Tek Singh on Monday, leaving a child dead and at least 35 injured.


Directing the police officials to stay alert, he said “the security situation demands extraordinary security arrangements”.

The DCO directed City Police Officer Abdur Razzaq Cheema to depute extra security personnel at public places, especially at bus stands, railway stations, hospitals and market places.

He also directed him to ensure that police superintendent of all five towns were on high alert.

He ordered the district police office to install walkthrough gates at all mosques and places for Eid congregations. He also directed him to ensure that police personnel at security check points were equipped with security gadgets.

The DPO was also told to liaise with the Rescue 1122 district emergency officer and the Civil Defence district officer.

The heath executive district officer has been directed to inform medical superintendents of all the hospitals in the district to operate in the emergency mode on the Eid eve and Eid day.
