Tragedy: Lieutenant dies in traffic incident

An army lieutenant lost his life in a traffic accident near Jalo Interchange here on Saturday.


Lieutenant Umair, who had just returned home after completing his training from the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Kakul in Abbottabad, was passing through a market along with his sister in their car when it skidded off the road and collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction.

As a result of the collision, Umar and his sister sustained critical wounds. They were rushed to a local hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. According to reports, Umair, a resident of Nartopa village, was the only brother of three sisters.

Moving scenes were witnessed at home, when the body was brought to the village for burial.

The deceased was laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard where his funeral prayer was attended by a large number of people including military officials.

A floral wreath was also placed on his grave by officials of the Pakistan Army.
