Pakistan Railways has constituted a monitoring committee to maintain a vigilant eye on train operations in the wake of the flood situation in several regions of the country. According to a press release, the committee will submit a report about the affect of rains and floods on rail operations on a daily basis to ensure smooth operations.
Federal Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafiq chaired a meeting in the headquarters on Saturday to review the situation during likely rains and flood.
It was decided in the meeting to constitute a committee that will administer vigilant surveillance on expected situations and arrange for contingent strategies.
Heavy rains and flooding also disrupted rail network, as two major trains due to enter Balochistan were stopped in Jacobabad.
