Wife-Burning Case: ‘Ensure challan is ready in three days’

Police registered a case and arrested Boota, who is currently in police custody.

LAHORE: The chief justice of the Lahore High Court on Thursday directed the Kasur district and sessions judge to look into a press report that a man in Pattoki had burnt his wife of nine years alive because they had been unable to have children.

According to the report, Muhammad Boota and his brothers Zeeshan, Javed and Imran doused Naseem Bibi with petrol and set her on fire. She was brought to Jinnah Hospital in critical condition and died from her injuries. Police registered a case and arrested Boota, who is currently in police custody.

The chief justice directed the Kasur district and sessions judge to make sure that police submit the challan of the case within three days.
