Special police deployment: Extra security from Aug 5 to Chand Raat

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police will deploy personnel at important places including shopping centres and main markets around the capital from August 5 till Chand Raat. Under the security contingency plan, more than 500 police personnel, in the form of various teams headed by zonal deputy superintendents of police (DSPs), inspectors and beat officers, will be deployed throughout the city.  Special teams will be deployed at Blue Area, Super Market, Jinnah Super Market, sectors F-10, F-11, I-10, Faizabad and Aabpara Market, according to the security plan. Police in civvies will keep an eye on carjackers and muggers in busy markets while female personnel will also be on duty. Special traffic police squads will be deployed to control the traffic flow.
