TERROR BID: Six suspects arrested

Six suspected terrorists were arrested in a monitoring operation around the main Youm-i-Ali procession.

MULTAN: At least six suspected terrorists were arrested in a monitoring operation around the main Youm-i-Ali procession on Wednesday. Sources told The Express Tribune that one suspect was identified as Fayaz who had entered the main procession at Multan Cantt posing as a florist. Cantt SP Karamat Malik said six suspects had been arrested and shifted to an undisclosed location. He did not give any further details about the arrests. There were 11 processions, including two main processions, organised in the city. More than two million people were expected to take part in the processions and gatherings. As many as 2,400 police personnel were deputed for security. Operations SSP Khurram Shakoor suspended five policemen for negligence.
