Swift action: FIA seals match factory over gas theft
The factory’s operational manager, Ashfaq, was arrested and the unit was sealed, forcing it to suspend production. FIA Deputy Director for Hazara Tariq Pervez told journalists they had received intelligence reports regarding gas theft from the factory.
FIA officials along with the technical staff of the Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) conducted the raid on Monday and sealed the Syed Match Factory. More than 700 employees work at the unit. The factory owner was not available for comments.
