On remand: ATC sends suspect behind Justice Baqar’s attack to jail

A witness had also identified the suspect during an identification parade held before a judicial magistrate.

An anti-terrorism court sent a suspect allegedly involved in the attack on Justice Maqbool Baqar to jail on judicial remand. Muhammad Muawiya will be in judicial custody till August 9 when the investigating officer will also submit a charge sheet.


Meanwhile, the ‘death squad’ chief of the banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, Abu Bakar alias Masoom Billah - who is one of the masterminds behind the attack on Justice Baqar - was also sent to police custody remand till August 4 but for the murder of lawyer Kauser Saqlain.

Earlier, Billah had confessed to his involvement in planning and executing the bomb attack on Justice Baqar in a district and sessions court.

A witness had also identified the suspect during an identification parade held before a judicial magistrate in district South.
