FAISALABAD: “The upgraded management information system (MIS) data entry centre will help Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) run its operations more efficiently,” Fesco Chief Rana Abdul Jabbar Khan said on Sunday. He was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the upgraded MIS Centre funded by the USAID’s power distribution programme. USAID Gender Specialist Quratulain Ibrahim said the needs of women were being neglected due to the small number of women employed in organisations in the country. She said the new centre had “created a female-friendly environment.” She said similar initiatives were being carried out at Gujranwala Electric Power Company (Gepco), Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco), Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (Hesco), Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) and Multan Electric Power Company (Mepco) to improve their customer service centres,” she said. Ibrahim said these centres would help improve the efficiency, motivation and performance of women workers.
