In return, the PML-N will provide a clear win for Jamshed Dasti’s brother in the NA 177 by-elections by withdrawing its candidate from the constituency.
Jamshed Dasti had previously also voted from PML-N’s Nawaz Sharif in the prime minister elections.
The PML-N had contacted Dasti when it was including independent candidates as part of the government after the general elections. The one-time PPP leader had stated that he would support PML-N for all its positive decisions, but will not support anything that went against the people of the nation.
Jamshed Dasti had won the general elections by a majority vote from two constituencies, one of which was NA 177 where now his brother is the candidate in the by-elections.
Jamshed Dasti will now compete against Hina Rabbani Khar’s father Noor Rabbani Khar representing the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in the NA 177 constituency.
