LAHORE:
Investigations DIG Zulfiqar Hameed on Thursday handed out various punishments to nine police officials for of dereliction of duty, poor investigation, misuse of power and willful absence from duty.
He also rewarded 10 police officials for good performance.
Hameed also dismissed a sweeper, Shahzad Masih, for willful absence from duty.
Inspector Masood Baig’s six-month service was taken away and his annual increment withheld for registering a false case against an innocent citizen.
The same punishment was given to Sub Inspector Sultan Ahmed for not arresting a proclaimed offender.
The deputy inspector general ordered a pay cut for Constable Imran for misuse of power.
Ten other police officials were given cash awards and certificates for good performance.
