Fia operation: Raids conducted against electricity theft

Different places in Peshawar and its surrounding areas were raided.

PESHAWAR: After the prime minister issued directives to curb electricity thefts, the Federal Investigation Agency’s special task force officials raided different areas of Peshawar and arrested persons involved in electricity theft on Thursday. An official at the FIA headquarters said on the basis of intelligence information, different places in Peshawar and its surrounding areas were raided. Jehangir and Kabir Khan, who were illegally supplying electricity to a brick kiln, were arrested along with Haji Ibrahim from Abbotabad. Additionally, two were arrested during raids in Quetta at Noorani Hotel and the marriage hall of Malik Ishtiaq Ahmad. Furthermore, Javed and Naeem were held for supplying illegal connections to tube wells at Charsadda Chowk, Mardan. The official added the accused were allegedly involved in the illegal activity for a long time. “They were put behind bars and further investigations are currently underway.”
