One-window cell boosts LDA earnings

LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has received Rs45.96 million in the 16 days since the inception of its one-window cell.

Sohail Janjua, the LDA spokesperson, said that the revenue collected through the one-window cell was 63 per cent more than that collected by the authority over a similar period – Rs28.2 million – without the cell.

The deposits, he said, were collected under several heads including transfer of plots, submission of building plans, sub-division of plots, extension in building period etc.

“As many as 2,810 applications have so far been filed at the one-window cell,” he said.

He added that the number was 86 per cent more than the 1,508 applications received during the 16-days without the cell.

The one-window cell has been set up at LDA’s Johar Town office at a cost of Rs25.5 million.

Janjua said that by housing all the relevant staff under one roof, the cell was helping the people get through quickly.

The building spreads over an area of 4,500 square feet. It is fully computerised and has seating arrangements for more than 100 peoples.

He said that there were separate counters for providing information to the visitors, collecting applications and handing out deposit slips, transfer letters, approved building plans or other relevant documents.
