KARACHI:

The Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Karachi is undertaking a two-week ‘registration campaign’ to record the details of all the houses and commercial units located under the authority’s domain.

The registration process is meant to maintain a database, which will help improve security arrangements in the area. The campaign will commence from Monday, July 29.

The housing and commercial units in DHA will be registered along with the essential details about their owners and occupants, including the information of the servants and employees, working or residing, in these units. Foreign embassies located in the area will only be required to furnish details of the local employees working there.

A large number of teams have been constituted for this purpose. The extensive exercise will entail a door-to-door data collection campaign in the designated areas. The team members, in the first phase, will distribute registration forms and subsequently collect the filled forms after two days. The team members will carry identification cards issued by the DHA.

DHA administrator Brig. Muhammad Abdullah has described the registration campaign as a significant step towards creating a better security environment in the DHA. He has asked the residents to extend their support and co-operation in making the campaign a success.
