Kidnapping bid: Woman survives kidnapping attempt

SUKKUR: A woman was injured in an alleged kidnapping bid on Monday night in Allah Dino Mazari village in Daharki. Armed men broke into the house of Barkat Ali Mosani and tried to kidnap his daughter, Nasreen Mosani. When the woman and her parents resisted, the kidnappers injured Nasreen with the butt of their gun and fled. Barkat told the police that his daughter married a man six months ago and was happily living with her husband. A local influential, Ashiq Ali Mosani, wanted to marry his daughter and upon his refusal he tried to kidnap her, he claimed. The police have registered a case against seven people, including Ashiq, Allah Bux, Nawab, Iqbal, Shahnawaz and others. They have yet to make any arrests.
