ATTOCK:

In-charge Prime Minister Complaint Cell and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Sheikh Aftab Ahmad took cognizance of complaints by locals against the alleged high-handedness of the police.

During a visit to the Model Police Station Attock city by the minister, Afzal Shah, a resident of the locality, complained that SHO Hafiz M Rafiq, Sub-Inspector Abid Qureshi and constable Zameer Ahmad allegedly entered his house without a search warrant and arrested his guests some days back.

He also alleged that Qureshi released them after taking ‘bribe’. During the visit of the minister, a large number of complainants thronged the police station and apprised him of their grievances against the police.

On the request of the minister, the DPO Attock ordered lodging an FIR against the SHO and other police officials.

Meanwhile, the Attock police on Sunday raided a house in Moh Shed and arrested 12 suspected gamblers and seized Rs10,960 stake money, seven mobile phones, two motorcycles and four cars from their possession.
