The representative said that neither was Adnan Rashid a senior commander of the Taliban nor did the Taliban have anything to do with the letter that Rashid wrote to Malala on Wednesday.
He said that Malala had been targeted because of her efforts in promoting secular education in Pakistan and her becoming a part of the West’s propaganda, which though reflect what Rashid mentioned in his letter.
The Taliban Council had obtained the actual draft of the letter that Rashid had sent Malala, and whether it had any content that went against the rules of the Taliban was being assessed, he said.
The council will also look into the purpose for which the letter had been written to Malala, the representative said.
Taliban’s prominent leader in Pakistan Adnan Rashid said that he was ‘shocked’ after Malala was attacked by the Taliban in October last year.
Rashid had been convicted in 2003 by the state of Pakistan for trying to assassinate former president Pervez Musharraf. He was also one of the many inmates who escaped from Bannu jail in April last year.
He wrote to Malala Yousufzai advising her to return and join a religious school for women in Swat. He wrote to Malala a day after her address at the United Nations General Assembly, criticising her speech in his two-page letter written in English.

Adnan Rashid's motives are difficult to pin down but his letter is just a piece of trash. He perhaps wanted a much desired publicity that has been acrued to him. His purpose is served. At the same time, he will pamper the Taliban by saying, "Look I did it for you". A great cheap stunt.
@Someone: I hope you are aware that Indian Punjab has a population of just 24 million with an area of 50,000 sq Km compared to Pakistani Punjab's 91 million population on an area of 205,000 sq km.

@Muzaffar, The biggest lie is Pakistan started from Zero in 1947. Remember Punjab was the most prosperous province of British India. Pakistan got most of Punjab and all the wealth of the Hindus and Sikhs of W Pakistan, who were the rich people of Pakistan.
Today Indian punjab, Haryana, Himachal, Delhi etc are among the most prosperous region of India and per capita income of Indian Punjab, Haryana, Himachal in India is more than twice of Pakistan Punjab.

In 1947 Pakistan started from Zero and India had all in its plate -even the money which was Pakistan's share, And when you see the progress made till now - Pakistan having developed its industry from inception is presently one of the major global market player in textile, agri , surgical instruments, sports items etc etc, has the ability to produce aircrafts, is a nuclear power, has produced some of the best sportsmen/women, musicians etc etc. Interestingly the one thing - infrastructure you talk about is one of the major basis of any development.........
Bottle ji come out of the bottle into reality and in Pakistan you will not see more people sleeping on streets then under roofs - like Mumbai, you will not see the government killing its own people by orchastrating Mumbai/Parliament attacks, you will not see destroying its own culture by producing so called modernized/westerinized entertainment stuff.

I guess Taliban regret the fame Malala got after all the tragedy. They would have thought that Malala's case will go down the drain like a lot of similar cases! I strongly condemn what has happened to her by so called Allah's Army (Na-uz-zubillah), endorse her as Daughter of Pakistan, a true future leader and last hope of female Education in Pakistan. @ Ali, you wouldn't feel it non sense if (God forbid) a similar situation has happened to your daughter or sister.

Railways : Well Pakistan has less working railway lines today, than in 1947. The railways stand destroyed. In many places railway employees have sold rail lines for scrap . No match to India's.
Air Traffic : No match to India's, not even close on a per-capita basis.
Power : Far worse than in India. They want to buy power from India.
Roads : Except a few show-roads built by US money or Chinese, they are as bad as any in India.

The request of Takiban for Malala to come back home was a trap which was laid down to kill her if she return home, as Taliban cannot kill Malals abroad.
