KARACHI: Pakistan’s Ali Bokhari and Tayyab Aslam moved into the prequarter-finals of the World Junior Individual Squash Championship being played in Wroclaw, Poland.

Aslam will face top-seed Egyptian Fares Dessouki, while joint-third seed Bokhari will take on Mohamed el Gawarhy.

In the third round, Bokhari thrashed Colombia’s Andres Felipe De Frutos 3-0 in just 19 minutes with game scores of 11-3, 11-5 and 11-8.

Aslam also notched up an easy victory against Portugal’s Claudio Pinto 11-6, 11-6 and 11-9 in just half an hour.

Pakistan head coach Jamshed Gul said he expected Aslam to put up a tough fight against the top seed.

“I hope Tayyab can give a tough time to Dessouki,” Gul told The Express Tribune.

“He can manage to beat him but even if he doesn’t, he should at least stretch the top-seed to his limit.”
