Rewarded: Sindh police honours policewoman

Sadiq stopped two suicide bombers from entering the shrine, injuring herself in incident.

Sindh Inspector General of Police, Shahid Nadeem Baloch on Tuesday presented the Quaid-e-Azam Police Medal to a policewoman, Stella Sadiq, for her outstanding performance. She is the first policewoman who got the Quaid-e-Azam Police Medal. Sadiq has been awarded this medal for performing duties at a time when a suicide blast took place at the Abdullah Shah Ghazi shrine in 2010. Sadiq along with other policewomen stopped two suicide bombers from entering the shrine, injuring herself in the incident. Talking to The Express she said that in October, 2010 she was deputed at the Boat Basin police station. “The Quaid-e-Azam Police Medal is an honour for me. I will perform my duties with courage and bravery in the future too.”
