Rashid was also one of the many inmates who escaped from Bannu jail in April last year.
He wrote to Malala a day after her address at the United Nations General Assembly, criticizing her speech in his two-page letter written in English.
Rashid said that he had written to Malala in his personal capacity and not as a member of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) or any other group.
"I advise you to come back, adopt the Islamic and Pushtoon culture, join any of the female Islamic madrassas near your home town, study and learn the book of Allah, use your pen for Islam to bring the plight of Muslim ummah to light and to reveal the conspiracy of the tiny elite who want to enslave humanity for their own evil agendas in the name of new world order," he wrote.
Rashid has featured regularly in videos released by the Taliban and in a recent video he was seen training Taliban fighters to attack Musharraf, before openly threatening him on camera.
He rejected Malala's assertion that she was targeted by the Taliban and claimed that he was shocked when the attack happened.
Malala, along with her friends was shot at point-blank range when her school van traveled through Swat last year.
"When you were attacked, it was shocking for me. I wish it [the attack] would never have happened," Rashid wrote.
"First of all, the Taliban never attacked you because of going to school or because of the fact that you were an education lover. The Taliban or Mujahideen are not against the education of any man or woman," Rashid wrote to Malala.
"Taliban believed that you were intentionally writing against them and running a smearing campaign to malign their efforts to establish an Islamic system in Swat. Your writings were provocative," he continued.
Claiming that Malala wasn't attacked because of her cause of education, he said "thousands of girls had been to school and college before the Taliban insurgency in Swat, would you explain why you were the only one on the hit list?"
Rashid said that Taliban were not the only ones blowing up schools but the Pakistan Army and Froniter Constabulary was as much to blame for it.
He said that the schools were being blown up so they can be used as hideouts and transit camps.
A copy of the letter, dated July15 has been received by The Express Tribune.

FULL TEXT OF LETTER
IN THE NAME OF ALLAH THE MOST MERACIFULL AND BENEFICEINT
From Adnan Rasheed to Malala Yousafzai
Peace to those who follow the guidance
Miss Malala Yousafzai
I am writing to you in my personal capacity this may not be the opinion or policy of Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan or other jihadi faction or group.
I heard about you through BBC Urdu service for the first time, when I was in bannu prison, at that time I wanted to write to you, to advise you to refrain from anti-Taliban activities you were involved in. but I could not find your address and I was thinking how to approach you with real or pseudo name, my all emotions were brotherly for you because we belong to same Yousafzai tribe.
Meanwhile the prison brake happened and I was supposed to be in hiding. when you were attacked it was shocking for me I wished it would never happened and I had advised you before.
Taliban attacked you, was it islamically correct or wrong, or you were deserved to be killed or not, I will not go in this argument now, let’s
we leave it to Allah All mighty, He is the best judge.
Here I want to advise you as I am already late, I wish I would have advised u in my prison time and this accident would never happened.
First of all please mind that Taliban never attacked you because of going to school or you were education lover, also please mind that Taliban or Mujahideen are not against the education of any
men or women or girl. Taliban believe that you were intentionally writing against them and running a smearing campaign to malign their efforts to establish Islamic system in swat and your writings were provocative.
You have said in your speech yesterday that pen is mightier than sword, so they attacked you for your sword not for your books or school.
There were thousands of girls who were going to school and college before and after the Taliban insurgency in swat, would you explain why were only you on their hit list???
Now to explain you the second point, why Taliban are blowing up schools? The answer to this questions in that not only Taliban in KPK or FATA are blowing up the schools but Pakistan Army and Frontier Constabulary is equally involved in this issue. The reason for this action is common between them that is turning of schools into hide outs and transit camps once it comes under control of either party Pakistan Army or Taliban.
In 2004 I was in Swat, I was researching on the causes of failure of the first revolution attempt by Sufi Muhammad. I came to know that FC was stationed in the schools of swat in tehsil Matta and FC was using schools as their transit camps and hid outs. Now tell me who to blame???
Dozens of schools and colleges are being used by Pakistan Army and FC as their barracks inFATA, you can find out easily if you like. So when something sacred is turned lethal it needs to be eliminated this is the policy of Taliban.
Blowing up schools when they are not using strategically is not the Taliban job, some black sheep of local administration may be involved to extract more and more funds in the name of schools to fill their bank accounts.
Now I come to the main point that is EDUCATION, it is amazing that you are Shouting for education, you and the UNO is pretending that as you were shot due to education, although this is not the reason, be honest, not the education but your propaganda was the issue and what you are doing now, you are using your tongue on the behest of the others and you must know that if the pen is mightier than the sword then tongue is sharper and the injury of sword can be hailed but the injury of the tongue never hails and in the wars tongue is more destructive than any weapon.
I would like to share with you that Indian sub-continent was highly educated and almost every citizen was able to read or write before British invasion. Locals used to teach British officers Arabic, Hindi, Urdu and Persian. Almost every mosque was acting as school too and Muslim emperors used to spend a huge sum of money on education. Muslim India was rich in farming, silk, and jute and from textile industry to ship building. No poverty, no crises and no clashes of civilization or religion. Because the education system was based on noble thoughts and noble curriculum.
I want to draw your attention to an extract from the minute written by Sir T.B Macaulay to British parliament dated 2nd February 1835 about what type of education system is required in Indian sub-continent to replace the Muslim education system.
He stated “We must at present do our best to form a class who may be interpreters between us and the millions whom we govern, --a class of persons Indian in blood and color, but English in tastes, inopinions, in morals and in intellect”
This was and this is the plan and mission of this so called education system for which you are ready to die, for which UNO takes you to their office to produce more and more Asians in blood but English in taste, to produce more and more Africans in color but English in opinion, to produce more and more non English people but English in morale. This so called education made Obama, the mass murder, your ideal. isn’t it?
Why they want to make all human beings English? because Englishmen are the staunch supporters and slaves of Jews. Do you know Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, the founder and symbol of
English education in India was a freemasons.
You say a teacher, a pen and a book can change the world, yes I agree with, but which teacher which pen and which book? It is to be specified, Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him said I am sent as a teacher, and the book He sent to teach is Quran. So a noble and pious teacher with prophetic curriculum can change the world not with satanic or secular curriculum.
You have given the example that once a journalist asked a student that why a talib afraid of this education he replied a talib didn’t know what was in this book. The same I say to you and through you to whole world that why they afraid from the book of Allah because they don’t know what is in it.
Taliban want to implement what is in the book of ALLAH and UNO want to impleme nt what they have in man-made books. We want to connect the world to their creator through the book of Allah and UNO want to enslave the world to few evil creatures.
You have talk about justice and equality from the stage of and unjust institution, the place where you were standing uttering for justice and equality, all the nations are not equal there, only five wicked states have the veto power and rest of them are powerless, dozens of time when all the world untied against the Israel only one veto was enough to press the throat of justice.
The place you were speaking to the world is heading towards new world order, I want to know what is wrong the old world order? They want to establish global education, global economy, global army, global trade, global government and finally global religion. I want to know is there any space for the prophetic guidance in all above global plans? Is there any space for Islamic sharia or Islamic law to which UN call inhumane and barbaric?
You have talk about attack on polio team, would you explain why the then American foreign secretary of state Henry Kissinger, a Jew, said in 1973 to reduce the third world population by 80%.Why the sterilization and eugenics programs are running in different countries in one way or another under the umbrella of UNO. More than 1 million Muslim women have been sterilized in Uzbekistan forcibly without their consent.
Bertrand Russell writes in his book the impact of science on society, “diet, injections and injunctions will combine, from a very early age, to produce the sort of character and sort of beliefs that the authorities consider desirable and any serious criticism of power that be will become psychologically impossible”. This is why we have the reservation on so called polio vaccination program.
You say Malala day is not your day it is the day of every person who has raised voice for their rights, I ask you why such a day in not assigned to Rachel Corrie, only because the bulldozer was Israeli? Why such a day in not assigned to Affia Siddique because the buyers are Americans? Why such day is not assigned to Faizan and Faheem because the killer was Raymond Davis? Why such a day in not assigned to those16 innocent afghan women and children who were shot dead by an American Robert Belas because he was not a talib.
I ask you and be honest in reply, if you were shot but Americans in a drone attack, would world have ever heard updates on your medical status? Would you be called ‘daughter of the nation? Would the media make a fuss about you? Would General Kiyani have come to visit you and would the world media be constantly reporting on you? Would you were called to UN? Would a Malala day be announced?
More than 300 innocent women and children have been killed in drones attacks but who cares because attackers are highly educated, non-violent, peaceful Americans.
I wish, the compassion you learnt from Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him should be learnt by Pakistan Army so they could stop shedding of Muslim blood in FATA and Baluchistan. I wish, the compassion you learnt from Prophet Jesus should be learnt by USA and NATO so they should stop shedding blood of innocent Muslims across the world and I wish the same for followers of Buddha to stop killing of innocent unarmed Muslims in Burma, and Sri Lanka and wish the same for Indian army to follow Gandhi jee and stop genocide in Kashmir, And yes, The followers of bacha khan, the ANP has an example of non-violence in their five years regime in KPK province, for example Swat, where a single shot was not fired and we witnessed the followers of bacha khan implemented the philosophy of nonviolence in its true soul, with support of jets, tanks and gunships.
at the end I advise you to come back home, adopt the Islamic and pushtoon culture, join any female Islamic madrassa near your home town, study and learn the book of Allah, use your pen for Islam and plight of Muslim ummah and reveal the conspiracy of tiny elite who want to enslave the whole humanity for their evil agendas in the name of new world order.
All praises to Allah the creator of the Universe.

@Syed Hasan Atizaz: He is an Ex-Airforce Personnel who served in Pakistan Airforce before being charged for attemtpting to kill Musharaf and improsined. He later escaped in the Bannu jail break.
Never trust these vultures in the garb of doves. Once she arrives, they will pounce on her, nobody will save her from them. They will ensure her fully well done by chopping in pieces. They can never be trusted, whatever they say. They are all trusted and well tried, not just once but several times...
Indian army does not engage in genocide. They only defend the nation from attacks.
great said by Mr. Adnan Rashid
Anyone who picks up a pen over the sword is a move in the right direction. The Taliban has written and I would sieze this opportunity to discuss peace with them if I were you. The worst outcome could be that we fail but we can try again.I have learnt something from this letter as it is my personal endeavor in every action that I take and everything I do. I strongly disagree with what the Taliban has been doing especially shooting and beheading children. Malala has survived fortunately thus we know about her but what about the 6 yr girl and the 10 yr old boy the Taliban beheaded not too long ago. What is your answer to those brutal killings? I wish the people of Pakistan and Afghanistan well. Peace and prosperity go together. If you want prosperity then you must bring about peace in your lands. For those who have voted yes for Malala's return to Pakistan would you do the same if she were your daughter? 14 yr old girls know everything. You cant argue with them. Ask any father and he will tell you the same. Malala was 14 when she was shot. If it is as a brother you write then it is your brotherly duty to defend and not kill.
A girl shot in the head and I hope, trauma of a head injury can be comprehended by people commenting here and you want her back. The government of pakistan cannot guarantee her safety unless she is a safe house or behind burqa. She deserves a normal life and I am hoping the same for other people affected by the incident.jaan hain jahan hain, rab rakha
@AK so the nice letter converted you to a Taliban sympathizer? How easy was that! Your suggestion is that after years of terror & killing we Pakistanis should try to attemp to understand a man who killed thousands! You confirm the fact that Talibanization is now an accepted social behavior, so the question is when do you offer tour family members to the sacrifice of slaughter? The most ridiculous statement if Malala was a victim of drones, she would not be speaking at the UN..really! The reason we have drones because Pakistan as anayion refuses to deal with the forces that are a threat, they have NO alternative action as we the people are too afraid to stop the mayhem your TALIBAN friends have unleashed!
He is fortunate that somehow he managed to escape from the prison and got this opportunity to share these thoughts/ideas in his personal capacity regarding shooting Malala. Very well written!!!! This is likely to change the thinking of a common pakistani against Taliban. In fact I feel he should regularly write articles for newspaper so that people could develop better understanding.
While I do not agree with most of his points but do agree with his answer that if Malala were attack by Drone, she would have never get a chance to speak in UN !!!
If Talibaan had said this through their spokesperson Imran Khan, advice might have been fruitful.
I think, the person conveying these messages to news agencies is as much part of terrorism as this talib commander. How I wish I can get my hands on this commander and shred him into pieces
well,Here is the update on the offer: http://tribune.com.pk/story/578724/letter-to-malala-we-will-target-malala-on-return-vow-taliban/
Now I just have a simple question that Adnan Rasheed is also talking n emphasising on education, why isn't our media and UNO promoting him? he is also talking about girl's education and giving an open invitation to girls like Malala who strived for education, why they only pick up girls or woman from Pak to make fun of our nation, from Mukhtaraan Mai to Malala baby. Malala wanted to go to her school and she loved her school so much that she couldn't even got scared of Taliban and wanted to go to her school at any cost, but now why is she preferring to chill at New York n Europe n not at her own town n school for which she got famous for? She should come n join her school as suggested by Adnan Rasheed. (ET would you bother to publish my comments or you guys are also working on UNO's n American agenda?)
@Realist: @Well Wisher:
In Canada, they articulate the top domestic and foreign threat as religious political Sunni Islamist extremism, particularly of the Wahhabi or Salafi kind. They take their security seriously and have basis to formulate this assessment from the evidence, not worrying about political correctness, nor share the same religious, sectarian and nationalist biases and taboos as the Pak state and its majority which fails to even agree on what their threat is and tackle it.
In full context the words I use are Wahhabi/Salafi/Deoband/Sunni extremists. It is not brainwashed propoganda, or simply lumping together. Its as objective and unbiased as you can get, considering most local Pak militants, as well as global jihadists, are usually inspired from such backgrounds of conservative hardline ideologies, and could serve some to introspect on this ideological crisis, instead of spouting 'liberal' propaganda and outright supporting the Taliban, which just proves the earlier points and descriptions of such commentators.
@Hasan Mehmood:
Happens with me as well where the pro-Taliban folks tend to have the last word. I'm going to try again and hope ET lets me through.
@Realist:
Speaking of generalizations, the comparison between a state's law enforcement agency with a terrorist group, that is full of extremists, is the worst and dishonest analogy ever. This is simply a deflection and unjustifiable excuse for your earlier gross claims that the TTP did not target innocents, when they clearly have, which has been proven wrong. If you bother to read the letter properly, Adnan Rashid claims to write in a personal capacity, does not apologize, nor condemns the attack, and instead justifies it, highlighting the hypocrisy and insincerity besides his confused stupidity. Its like a delusional Nazi telling its victim to not be biased on their criminal actions. Enough of this sick shameful ideological defense for criminal outlawed extremist terrorists, who routinely indulge in killing innocents.
@Realist: @Strategic Asset: Do you really believe she wrote that herself? Come on, it was written and handed to her. . I believe you.
Moderator ET: Where is my comment. What's wrong with it?
Being so true and making one know of what is going on in the world is good thing Mr.Adnan Rasheed but one thing i will like to ask you is that what is your dignity and ethics when you are killing your own innocent people, who are unaware of what is going on in the world and what are they suffering from. yes i agree upon you that western nation are on the plan of globalisation in term of language, religion and many things, yes we are being slave of their plan and orders but tell me why you are killing them who become slave unknowingly and why you want to establish islam killing your own people.
he was fortunate that somehow he managed to escaped from the prison and got this chance to share his thoughts. very well written ! this will likely to change the thinking about Taliban. I seriously think he should regularly write on different topics.
I still remember those days when media gave same or more hype to Mukhtaraan Mai case. Though this case is different one but honestly most of the people from us don't even know that what Malala has done which other girls of same school n the same van couldn't do. Can anyone please tell? (ET is there any problem to publish it? you are always not posting my comments, when Malala n Taliban has freedom of speech, then why not me n other common people?, do we have to pay you something in lieu of this? or we are not as famous as these ones?)
@Realist: Please refrain from clubbing two things together. Law enforcement and terrorism are two separate things. There are so many differences in your quoted examples but I will provide only one opposing argument, you can question the quality of the law enforcement but please do enlighten me if you can do the same for the terrorism. Also there is no neutral here. There are things that are right and then things that are wrong. You are free to choose side. But do not complain if the menace of Taliban never ever goes away.
So it turns out the TTP are basically deluded conspiracy theorists with AK-47's. A very dangerous admixture, indeed.
It is totally right and facts which i see on my own eyes The situation of swat is same which explained by Taliban leader, Adnan Rashid One can not deny reality
@Jay: Dear JAY for reply please see the rising incidence of POLIO in Pakistan which is only one of the few countries in the world still blighted with POLIO. And instead of killing polio workers isn't it much easier to get the vaccine tested by certified Muslim doctors and lab technicians in Saudi Arabia / Egypt / Malaysia / UAE etc. The drops are not stored secretly like ballot papers to be opened on the day. They are stored all over Pakistan and surely its not beyond Taliban to get hold of some samples. For authenticity they can take along ARY team for joint sampling and subsequent TV production { JURM BOLTA HAI} By the way have you or your brothers / uncles ever refused to administer polio drops to their children? Grow up man for GOD's sake.
Please someone reply to this part of letter about Polio Vaccine
"You have talk about attack on polio team, would you explain why the then American foreign secretary of state Henry Kissinger, a Jew, said in 1973 to reduce the third world population by 80%.Why the sterilization and eugenics programs are running in different countries in one way or another under the umbrella of UNO. This is why we have the reservation on so called polio vaccination program"
@bigsaf:
Again, you generalize when in the letter Adnan Rashid clearly says he was shocked. There are extremist elemets everywhere. Even in law enforcement agencies there are some who would rather kill alleged criminals on the spot rather than allow legal proceedings to decide the matter. Would you call the whole organization as embodiment of those principles? Apply same rules for everyone and do not be biased. Try to be neutral.
I also received copy of letter... on my blog complete with spelling mistakes Firstly I condemn all violence. The letter however makes some very valid points on the double standards of the west re violence... a drone is the same as a bullet to a child in Tribal areas. We have known for some time that schools in Pakistan are sometimes used as bases by all sides and also that many girls went to school in Swat when it was under Taliban. No one seems to care about the many people from the region losing out on education when they are displaced as IDPs and no one mentions aggression from the Pakistani military which is another constant complaint from locals.
Malala is currently being used by Gordon Brown for his "for profit" schools agenda.. A man known by women in his former govt to be a bully but worse... a man who helped cover up deaths of British children through joint policies of US and Brit govts. Our dead children seemingly don't matter. Malala has also become a western commodity, expected to earn around 2 million pounds for book and film, while child drone victims often not even named. She is the new poster girl of western govts, a welcome distraction from their own atrocities!
What a joke. I hope no one is stupid enough to let this make them sympathetic to the Taliban. I felt pity and contempt for the poor fool who wrote this letter because he wrote like he actually had a point to make, clearly under the impression that he had some arguments in his favour.
We shouldn't be quick to label everything as black or white
@MUSA: have you lost your mind. Why do you want Malala to come back to Pakistan ? just to have her head blown up again ??? she is better off being a voice for our women from outside Pakistan. Pakistani's cannot keep their own people safe and protected in their own country. She is much better off staying away and do her work and be a voice for good.
@Ruby: Right you are going to agree with a terrorist. One who is intent upon killing us. Even if Army is using the schools as bases, it does not give any one right to blow them up. If you have to give the benefit of the doubt, you should give it to the victim, not the murderer.
Interesting
Rashid was also one of the many inmates who escaped from Bannu jail in April last year.
@Guru Ghantal:
Usual rant for usual suspects....curious though how you know this is my usual rant, as your username is new to me...
@Realist:
Remember when you earlier claimed that TTP, the criminals and traitors such as Ehsanullah and Adnan Rashid above you so admire, don't target innocents? They just admitted to trying to kill the school girl Malala Yousafzai, again. This is of course just one of many other attacks on innocents they've claimed, such as on the recent foreign mountain climbers in G-B or the Pakistani Shia Muslim minorities, etc.
While some of the points of this Terrorist are valid, but most of the point are contradictory. He said she was not shot by taliban and then said she was shot because of her remarks about taliban...Meanwhile this person himself his educated (FSc passed if i m not wrong) in the same english schools not in Madrassas. So, he should first punish himself for doing this sin.
@MUSA: Really? It is time for you to forget her, because she will not come back to the place where she was shot in the face, and where leaders of the violent opposition write her letters to tell her ti was justified? You are sick.
Letter-Mind blowing job by these Taliban people. Have heard about the BRAIN-washing of Talibans, today I practically came across their BRAIN-WASHING....
Only if you had not mentioned the reason of putting down school buildings, you would have won! That was objectionable in this letter.
Taliban have destroyed hundreds of schools and killed many innocent civilians and school children. What explanation do they have for that? They still carry guns and terrorise people which is against Islam. What example are they trying to set. They don't have a clue about the meaning of mercy and they are talking about forgiveness and righteousness.
The best thing that this letter does is that it sends the conspiracy theories to the dustbin (a place where they have always belonged). It puts the conspiracy theorists and apologists in a dilemma: If you believed in their justifications, then know, that they did attack her. But if you still insist on the theory that it was a 'drama', then please don't quote the letter's reasoning and justifications it provides.
That brave girl's life is set. She is into big league now, working for the world's problem. Why would she leave the peaceful and progressive environment of England and join a Pakistani Madarassa?
I am just hoping the Taliban won't harm her there for the sake of taking a revenge.
Hats off to media, they have shown that they are the back-seat drivers, they can drive anyone to the heights of fame even for unknown reasons. Soon we'll get to see billboards n ads in the market promoting Malala Lawn, Malala Cafe, (MFC) Malala Fried Chicken etc etc. Salute to media. (Mostly my comments does not publish on this site on various issues but let's see about it).
During those days of this insident, many media houses of the world were giving reports and investigations regarding Malala's case. PTA restricted many URLs. As they were not giving the reports that government wanted to show. The Malala incident has been an elaborate definition of the media fiasco in Pakistan and clearly, the matter of gaining popular leverage by creating baseless opinions and arguments that were paradoxical and self contradictory.
Don't lose heart Mr.Rashid. I see many here in this very blog who are willing and eager to send their sisters and daughters to your madrassas of higher education.Leave poor Malala alone.
Seems to be Good taliban!
many malalas have been attacked by taliban...only she was reported...dont come back...dont trust tabliban....
@bigsaf: " Their insane takfiri Wahhabi/Salafi/Deoband/Sunni extremist ideology is NOT Islamic and inhumane. " The Taliban might have "Wahhabi/Salafi/Deoband/Sunni" ideology but few "Wahhabi/Salafi/Deoband/Sunni" support the Taliban. Do not mix them. Try to be objective and unbiased, as you seem to be an academic.
Writer is very well educated person.
@bigsaf: Your usual rant!!!
Am I the only one seeing the that's-what-she -said joke in tongue and sword analogy?
Education was a cause of 1857 freedom war ..... I guess
@bigsaf: "Seems some Pakistanis can be easily impressed and brainwashed by nonsense " such as yours for lumping together all "Wahhabi/Salafi/Deoband" as " takfiri," and "kharijites.''
he is desperately trying to control the damage that this whole episode done to the image of Taliban. I can point out a dozen contradictions and lies in this letter, but....who cares!!!
The man sadly has a point. Malala was not attacked for studying, her friends in the same bus were also having education. Hard fact but true, the English newpapers, especially their opinion pieces are not exactly unbiased when reporting incidents like this. Technically the terrorist is saying the truth. It is also true that schools are sometimes used by armed forces for the simple reason that they are usually the only spacious government buildings around. CRPF used a school in J&K which was attacked recently for example. UNO should ban use of schools and hospitals for military activities. Even without a ban, governments should themselves ban the practice.
Very good letter written by adnan rashid. Finally we can see things from the Taliban's point of view.
"The Western savior complex has hijacked Malala's message. The West has killed more girls than the Taliban have. The West has denied more girls an education via their missiles than the Taliban has by their bullets. The West has done more against education around the world than extremists could ever dream of. So, please, spare us the self-righteous and self-congratulatory message that is nothing more than propaganda that tells us that the West drops bombs to save girls like Malala."
@Guru Ghantal: What is she today, please explain.
Can't believe there are sympathizers and apologists who fall for this 9th grade level youtube blogger intellect, while unashamed admits to the Taliban's murderous attack, making this thick and sick letter from a terrorist militant who escaped from Pakistan's jail as something 'heart-warming'. Seems some Pakistanis can be easily impressed and brainwashed by nonsense which lacks critical thinking by violent extremists. Not a surprise that many share the same right-wing religious nationalist mindsets and failed to act against such atrocious criminals.
So many glaring holes in his twisted and ridiculous all over the place narrative (British India, stupidly confusing Pak's or UNO's Polio vaccine program with Uzbek's forced sterilization by a dictatorship, Rasool SAW promotion of 'ILM' from anywhere, Dr Aafia Siddiqui false comparison, etc), which itself would need a looong rebuttal. Regardless its time to call out this munafiq hypocrisy and ignorant jahalat from the modern day kharijites. Their insane takfiri Wahhabi/Salafi/Deoband/Sunni extremist ideology is NOT Islamic and inhumane. Such tyrannical zulm and backward un-Islamic beliefs which indulges in judging, justifying killing qatl and other bigoted biases and hate against innocents has no room for today's society.
@Malik Ahmad Zia: He described it himself that she had difference of opinion with the Taliban, which "compelled" them to retaliate and try to kill an unarmed, underage female kid. What ever it is that is more than what meets the eye, as you have so have put it. It doesn't warrant murder. But then again, explaining this is futile when you are raising question regarding the victim and trying to give a justification to the murderers. Also they have not spared the other girls either. Didn't they blow up the schools and colleges whenever they got the chance. It is their typical rhetoric that they were "forced" in to doing all the terrorist activities. Would you believe a murderer or the victim, choice is yours. She should never ever come back. At this time when she isn't here and we are accusing her of whatnot. If God forbid she ever returns we will eat her alive.
I cant believe that he had the audacity to defend the taliban and write to her. Shame on him and shame on all those who malign Malala. Pakistanis seriously need to reflect on themselves and stop looking for refuge in things outside the system for their problems.
I congratulate the World media for making Malala what she is today.
The letter addressed to Malala appears to be a part of a campaign to change their tarnished image. The fact of the matter is Malala's assassination attempt resulted in loss of major support at home and resulted in world wide condemnation against them. The Taliban leader has presented a wishy-washy explanation but failed to justify the murderous attack on her. Taliban needs to give lot of explanations of killing of thousands of innocent civilians in mosques and public places, killing of polio workers and why they were destroying only girls schools, targeting lady teachers and school girls when they are not against girls education ? The militancy only thrives with the active support of local people and the same is now at its lowest ebb. The Taliban has to realise that they cannot enforce their twisted ideology on people of Pakistan by intimidation and barbarous killing of innocent people.
This letter looks like a clever ploy by the Taliban to bring her to Pakistan so they can get a second chance.
Malala you are a valuable jewel.Do not trust these ugly faced Taliban, the liars, the killers. Stay out of Pakistan. You can work there better for you and Pakistan and for the cause of education for females..You are future Nobel-laureate of our motherland.Grow, thrive and shine.
Taliban who are against English language and system write speak and write English fluently??
Who are you trying to fool Adnan Rashid? Did you forget that your now fired spokesperson, Ehsanullah Ehsan, gave a statement about targeting and shooting Malala; promising that they will not mess up next time and she will be dead! When the heat was on, they issued an eighteen pages long explanation of their evil deed. Now you say it was not Taliban who shot her and her classmates. You are just a bunch of cowards who attack and kill innocent women and children. To gain a few minutes of fame, you now write to Malala who stood up at the United Nations and presented a positive view of Pakistan, and spoke about the rights of women and the rights to gain knowledge that her religion, her culture and her country has given her. We will not give you the gratification of shedding the guilt off your shoulders. You are a convicted criminal who kills innocent people. And that is where you stand.
Abdul Quddus DET-United States Central Command
You should have advised her before targeting a small girl.
Looking at so much support for this absolute rubbish written by a terrorist, I think Malala will suffer the same fate in Pakistan as Abdus Salam did.
If someone kills Malala, I expect a rose garden showered on him, not just rose petals.
What balderdash.
"we leave it to Allah All mighty, He is the best judge."
You say, Allah is the best judge and yet, you judge all the 6 billion people on earth based on your ignorance and arrogance.
Stay away dear child, away from the brutes. Waheguru bless you a long life. Rab rakha
Idiotic and delusional, he admitted their defeat by leaving talibans unislamic and inhumane action of shooting a 15 year old girl Malala to Allah.
yeah true... they are expert in Brain washing......... whatever, these Taliban are not "true Muslims".. they are bound to doom...
Plus for Malala, her foremost dream was to come to Pakistan in the future, and become a Pakistani politician, she said she always wanted to be a Pakistani politician and work for the betterment of Pakistani women, it is obvious that now or afterwards, Malala will come to Pakistan.... so yeah...
AND I THINK TALIBAN ARE TOO HURT BY THE MALALA'S SPEECH... LOL I THINK IT'S KINDA FUNNY.. HAHAHA
The better this malala drama is exposed, the better.
once again, a religious nut and fanatic justifying his medieval views base on his interpretation of the Koran... this is seen also in Christianity too... just watch CBN on cable and listen to some of the abject homophobia "preached" in the name of Jesus etc...ergo the crusades and so many other atrocities committed in the name of Allah, Jesus or whatever "god" man envisions....Karl Marx was so right when he stated the religion is the opium for the people.
Letter from a convicted killer, prison escapee and avowed enemy of the Pakistani people...how is publishing this propaganda from the TTP helping Pakistan?...recognize who the enemy of your country is and do not supply them with support From ET...
Coward dog threatening a 16 year b old girl ... Long live Malala
@B::: "Why print the letter and give publicity to this Talib",By reading the letter we came to know about the reason for century old dislike of education by Muslims of the sub-continent hence lagging behind in modern knowledge, blowing up of schools and murder of several vaccinators.
This is a thought-provoking and well structured letter, he raises a number of valid points which can not be shunned, esp, would anyone care about malala if she died in a drone strike, and why does she choose western education and the NGO instead of educating herself on Islam, this Talib is an insightful man
Reading Mr. Rasheed's letter - Although I feel at times an intense anger present - I say he makes many valid points.
Read the entire long letter with its emotional Islamic appeal. No further comment from me more than this. While a few of the things may be right but most of it is apologism. I don't think that Malala should return to Pakistan in near future. She will be killed, brutally too, no sooner she lands. Nobody will be able to protect her. Instead my advice to this whoever fellow will be to write a similar letter with all his pious advices to Talibanis. That may be better.
Thats why they are successful...they brainwash people effectively. If one sits with them to discuss, they break you down slowly.
she is divisive.
Thank you ET for publishing the letter. You truly stuck to your impartial policy. I have always supported Malala, even from the time she wrote to the BBC Urdu and then until now. However, I don't see anything wrong said in the letter either. Specially this part is so true:
Most if not all statements made by him are either incorrect or out of context.
* Taliban attacked you, was it islamically correct or wrong, or you were deserved to be killed or not, I will not go in this argument now, let’s we leave it to Allah All mighty, He is the best judge* Dear taliban; why don't you leave us pakistanis as Allah is the best judge and you are free to observe your rituals (terrorism isn't included)
Forget the terrible tragedy of Malala why is the TTP even allowed to exist, most other countriies & their citizens would talk less & less & do more to hunt these monsters & destroy them but alas Pakistan & it's citizens do not have those basic strengths & do anything!
Such a touching letter straight from the heart. He takes the example of the prophets (PBUH), Gandhiji and Buddha too. So secular and worldly wise. A true humanitarian. It now makes perfect sense why Taliban had to shoot an unarmed girl point blank in the head. We need more "good Taliban" terrorists like Adnan Rashid. He is a true Pakistani. All the other "bad Taliban" terrorists are should be targeted, the good ones should be embraced. (sic)
A slap in the face of Taliban lovers who say malala wasn't shot.
@Ali Hassan Bokhari: There should be nothing to discuss with these animals who have not only managed to hijack basic theology of Islam and interpreted in their form but also your Nation !
looks like Talibans are into alot of reading.
lol.. join madrssa.. hahaha :D
I have seldom laughed so hard!
I've just given a vertical read to his letter. As a historian I feel the gentleman writing to Malala has limited access to unbiased information. A lot of references he quoted are misleading or wrong. He appears to be in the 'conspiracy and myth-land', for instance Confusing Judaism with Freemasonry?! I could go on and on, but this would require a comprehensive reply in the form of an article
How dare media gives space to prison escapee?
She was not shot because she was writing against the Taliban, the real reason she was targeted was because she refused Mulla Umer's Marriage proposal.... he wanted her to be his 20th and oldest wife....which, at the age of 15, she would be. But since she refused, the Taliban had to shoot her as nobody disses the Ameer-ul-Momineen and gets away with it.
How can Talibans write such good English?
The taliban did allow women education in Swat correct but that was only from Nursery till 5th class. Children had to wear a Burqa and be taught by females. Even Matric was not allowed for girls let alone a proper university education which many young women today aspire for.
Also later media found that children of many high-class taliban leaders who are so against university education actually attend various Pakistani universities. I remember hearing that Ehsan-ullah Ehsan's son went to Peshawar university. Yet other people's kids have to attend Madarsa?
Valid Questions........
Is it all real? I mean it was not expected of a Talib to write all this. English is quite good though plain and with some funny and grammar mistakes, but still better than most of our premiers. Anyway, the madness is on both sides, we need Islam, not Talibanisation as well as no influence of Americans and proxy wars.
While he tried not to justify the attack, he has a valid question. Why Malala only? There is certainly more to it than what meets the eye. And no, I am not conspiracy theorist. Rest assured i am not infected by Zaid hamid. I am only trying to be subjective.
Dont Return, We Dont need Cowards and Black Sheeps anymore
Very will written letter, its like forcing me to change my Opinion !!!!!!!!
reading this the writer's theories and thinking is so wraped ...hes beyond argument ... he wants to talk but his core wants to murder anyone who disagrees with him ... i feel ashamed of myself for even admitting this but ...in this war against the taliban ...we wont be having any peaceful discussions its sad but ... thats what the reality of war is
Interesting, very interesting... . So if the TTP in Swat are not against girls education, what was Malala's speech in the UN all about?
Why should this young lady give up free education facility in G8 Nation to return to your Mess & Madrassas and daily Mayhem, Carnage etc .......... One has to be pretty stupid ! That this young lady is certainly not, so keep your offer and wisdom, as its not required and continue to destroy what little is left of the Country too ! Just look at your neighbours and see their progress, while you obviously want to return to living in caves !
It's a scary thing, reading his justification for all the hate and terror the Taliban have spread. He views the rest of the Muslim world as mechanistic robots hard-wired to think like the British since they have been taught a curriculum that serves the purposes of a few evil creatures? How about his justification of the attacks carried out on the polio workers? This is madness.
He is quick to pass judgement on the rest of the world but he contradicts himself by saying that only god has the right to pass judgement on Malalas attackers. No dude, only god has the right to pass judgement on each one of his creations. You are completely out of whack. We are the 'ashraful makhluqat'. Each one of us has a mind of our own, we haven't been brain washed. I fear though, that you have!
Interesting Letter. the media shows talibs as monsters; this letter shows otherwise.
i didnt think the taliban were educated enough but he seems well-read and you can tell he really wants to reach out to malala
Why print this letter and give this Talib who openly supports violence the publicity he wants? Did you ever think of the reprecussions of this? One thing is clear, Taliban and conspiracy theorists are pretty similar.
Malala will never return. its time we forget her and move on too! because she has disowned Pakistan she will clearly not come back. if she does then she is truly Pakistani but if she doesn't then time to forget her and move on!
Anyway, this must all be very confusing for people who believe Malala was never shot at all, or shot by the government or the CIA or whatever other crazy theory. A Taliban man seems rather convinced that the Taliban shot her. Must also be a CIA agent?
She is chilling in New York and London...why would she come back
Probably the only nation the world (from politicians to journalists, judges, public servants & students) who doing are everything they can to plot against their own country and destroy it for personal gains.
@Zeff:
No, it's an attempt at PR management by heartless terrorists
How shweeet, my dear terrorist. So you felt sad about it. So cute.
Tyrants with a heart?
Poor Malala has become the most divisive personality in Pakistan!
somehow all this feels unreal
