The home department was informed by intelligence agencies that banned terrorist organizations have drafted a plan to target the former dictator’s daughter in Karachi.
The department has requested the rangers and police for fool-proof security for Ayla Musharraf.
Pervez Musharraf also faces threats to his life ever since his return to Pakistan from self-exile, which delay his required physical appearance in court.
Musharraf, who returned from four years of self-imposed exile in March, has been under house arrest at his plush farmhouse on the edge of Islamabad since April 19.
He has been facing a slew of charges, including the proclamation of emergency rule on November 3, 2007 when he suspended the Constitution and put superior court judges under house arrest.

I am an Ahmadi Muslim. I have been threatened everyday of my life since my school days. Notes have been sent to my home several times that Ishall be killed. This is thanks to the Government policy of declaring me non Muslim for the sake of the constitution and the religous fanatics who have no understanding of my beliefs or Islam. I pray to Allah every day 5 times per day to grant me and my family a fail safe security. So far Allah has helped me and several attempts on my life has been unsuccessful. Allah is the onky one who can grant fail safe security. I suggest to Musharraf Sahibs daughter to pray to Allah. May her prayers be answered. Ameen!!!
@Raja sahib It is really shameful for you to associate Musharraf with MQM. A number of times Musharraf was asked about his intention to join MQM and he bluntly refused. Because he knows what MQM is all about.

Re. the comments on Musharraf's ethnicity. A number of Punjabis hate the mohajirs who are Urdu-speaking, not the majority of mohajirs from east Punjab ( including the Sharif family ) who speak Punjabi. If language is what matters in deciding ethnic groupings, then may be the Punjabis have more of a bond with the Punjabis across the border, than with the Karachiites.
As for security, who is safe in Karachi? Last winter when I was on my annual visit to Pakistan I felt insecure every time I stepped out and was once accosted by a cop who thought I looked suspicious, because I was carrying a backpack with bottled water.
I sure am glad I live 12000 km away from Pakistan; but it is a country I care for and wish it well.
May Allah Save Alya. Musharraf is a not only a great leader but an ":Azeem Father" who did not involve his family or children in Politics

It is wise of him that he didn't join MQM as well after stepping down as President.

What about the men on street, who is daily facing threat to his life, due to lack of security, law & order and bombings ? Who will provide him any security ? This Nation is only interested in the Elite, and the day will come when masses will say, Enough is Enough to the Elite ! That is what is required in the land of pure, and then only perhaps it may mange to survive as a country !

Why not give 'fool-proof security' to EVERY Pak citizen, why only for members of a selected privileged class?
and what about hazara people in quetta, shias in karachi, innocent people of different ethnicities who are killed on daily basis but no body is caught, but home department does have intellegence report about one person's daughter..are not we equal HAMWATNO

There may be people who are MORE loyal to Musharraf then PM Sharif. Musharaf's daughter should be provided same security as he provided for late PM Benazir Bhutto.
Lol. More tax payer money wasted on this woman? She hilariously planned and designed a useless large water fountain for Karachi which cost billions of tax payer rupees and which had to be shut down after a few months because of cost reasons (reasons she ignored beforehand lol). If this is some form of exerting pressure on Musharraf to leave the country, I dont think it will work. The upright and honest do not cave in
