Drugs Possession: SP issued show cause notice

LAHORE: An additional district and sessions judge has issued a show cause notice to the City SP for July 18 to explain why he has not completed an investigation into a drugs case. The court had repeatedly directed the SP to submit his investigation report. Ijaz, who is alleged to have been caught in possession of 2.425kg of hashish, had earlier been granted pre-arrest bail and directed to join the police investigation. The judge had directed the SP to listen to the complainant and the bail petitioner. The SP summoned the petitioner but did not meet with him. According to the FIR at Shadbagh police station, Ijaz was caught on February 11 trying to ditch a bag containing a large amount of hashish.
