ISLAMABAD: The newly established sub-office of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) in Bahawalpur started functioning on Monday to guide young people and the general public from remote areas about the opportunities at the higher education level. An HEC official told APP the sub-office would help guide youth from far flung areas about various HEC programmes and initiatives, scholarships and establish close liaison with higher education institutions of the area. It was decided earlier by HEC to establish its sub-offices in remote and far flung areas of Southern Punjab, upper Sindh, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan, the official said.
