RAWALPINDI: Judge Arshad Mehmood’s court ordered the seizure of assets belonging to former federal health secretary Khushnood Akhtar Lashari in the infamous ephedrine quota case, reported Express News on Saturday.
Khushnood Akhtar Lashari’s houses in Lahore and Islamabad will be seized after Lashari failed to provide details of his assets to the court as was ordered on July 6.
Pharmaceutical Director Col (retd) Tahirul Wadood Lahoti, chief executive of Berlex Lab International Multan Iftikhar Khan Babar, and Director Rizwan Ahmed Khan’s properties will also be seized based on the same failure to submit answers to the court.
Others to list details of assets to the court were ex-prime minister Yousaf Raza Gillani’s son Ali Musa Gillani and spouse Fouzia Gillani. They claimed that the money shown has not been made through the sale of ephedrine but was made through personal means.
The Control of Narcotics Substances (CNS) court on July 6 issued notices to 15 accused in the ephedrine case including ex-prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, his wife Fouzia Gilani and son Ali Musa Gilani to inform the court in writing about their source of income.
The judge adjourned the court till July 30.

No one should be exempted or excused, Ali Musa Gilani, Fauzia Gilani or Yousuf Raza Gilani, the Executives of any and every Pharma companies should brought into accountability and punished to the hardest if we have a Judicial system and it is working farely, this is a fraud of 7 billion US$, so confiscating 2 or three houses is not a punishment, Now every one should know the reason why Yousuf Raza Gilani rejected the court order to write a letter against Asif Zardari requesting French authorities to reopen the fraud case against Asif Zardari, he did a favor to him and now it the return time from the President. Some one, at some point should take a step in favor of this country, this country which has given the bests out of bests to us and is still capable of nurturing all of us, but it also needs sincere care, a little appreciation at least. These characterless presidents, Pms and so on takes the highest salaries, facilities and still involved in looting and destroying the Country should never be allowed to walk free.

The common man will be happy only if the orders of the court implemented in letter and spirt.
This is step in the right direction. Next step must be to sell these properties in open public auction and deposit money in the Govt account. In the mean time put these culprit in jail for next 100 yrs or till they die , which ever come first. By the way Gillani family is corrupt to the last drop of their blood especially his wife Fauzia Gillani. She took loan in 1990's and never returned the money. For further detail google her name and one can find all the details.
@ Ali Everyone knows your name-sake Ali Musa Gillani is MrEphedrine and people like you cannot exonerate him. Although big mouth Sheikh Rasheed has had his own axe to grinde but he was bound to bite dust with a bruised face.
Why i can't see Mr Ephedrine named in it?
To think that all that YRG had before he became PM was 50 acres of agricultural land. Many people now quite rightly wonder where all the Gillani houses, sports cars, fat bank accounts etc. came from.

After three months it will be revealed that no assets have been seized as the accused have none. They are quite poor.
Despite political slogans of change, a new invisible change has already emerged in Pakistan, which is free judiciary and free media, not to forget a more accountable government. Feeling so happy!
