As many as seven people, including one Afghan security man, were killed, when a suicide bomber blew himself up on Thursday at Pak-Afghan border in Chaman, Balochistan.
According to the sources, the bomber wanted to enter Chaman from Afghan side when the security forces, finding him suspicious, stopped him at Pak-Afghan Friendship Gate. In the meanwhile, the suicide bomber detonated his explosive-laden jacket which resulted in the death of 7 people, including an Afghan security personnel, three Pakistani and as many Afghani civilians;where as 10 people, who sustained injuries, included four personnel of Balochistan Frontier Corps (FC). However according to some officials, the bomb was planted on a cart.
The deceased and injured were shifted to hospital immediately and Pak-Afghan border was closed for all kinds of movement of goods, men and transport. The Nato supplies were also suspended due to the closure of the border. The sources said that the injured Afghani civilians were shifted to the bordering district of Afghanistan Spin Boldak Hospital.
FC cordoned off the area following the incident and security was tightened on both the sides of the border.
