Reviving state units: Argentina offers economic support

The minister welcomed the Argentinean overtures and assured full support.

ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of Argentina in Pakistan Rodolfo J Martin Saravia called on the Federal Minister for Industries and Production (MOIP) Ghulam Murtaza Jatoi and discussed in detail the prospects of enhancement of industrial cooperation between the two countries. Ambassador Saravia said that Argentina has a lot to offer in managing the non-profitable state-owned enterprises of Pakistan. Jatoi urged Argentinean investors to invest in the heavy industry in Pakistan as this sector has a great potential to absorb new investments. He assured that the MOIP will accord the investors every possible support to establish industrial units in the Industrial zones and Industrial Parks run under ministry’s supervision. The minister said that MOIP has prepared an Industrial Policy which will very soon be approved and implemented. This policy envisages huge incentives for the foreign investors and will turn Pakistan into a prime investment destination for the world. The minister welcomed the Argentinean overtures and assured full support.
