LAHORE:

A newborn was kidnapped from Jinnah Hospital on Wednesday. Ghulam Ali, a resident of Green Town, said his wife gave birth to a daughter early Wednesday morning.

He said the baby’s grandmother was holding the child in a corridor outside the labour room when a woman requested to hold the child. CCTV footage showed that the old woman handed the baby to the woman who walked away and did not come back. After a few minutes, the family raised an alarm and informed the administration about the incident. However, the woman could not be found. The family then protested against the administration. ASP Nida Riaz Chattha assured the family that the woman’s picture would be used to trace her by running it through the NADRA database.
