KARACHI: A district and sessions court extended the interim pre-arrest bail of six suspects, including Shahrukh Jatoi’s brother, Nawab Ali Jatoi, who have been accused of helping Shahrukh escape from the country using fake travel documents.

Nawab Ali, a director for one of the companies run by Sikander Jatoi, Muhammad Khurram, two directors of Fazal-e-Rabbi (Pvt) Ltd - Muhammad Abu Bakar Dochki and Muhammad Omer Dochki, a supervisor at Gerry’s Danata Syed Salman Shah, and a passenger services assistant, Wasi Akhtar, were granted interim pre-arrest bail earlier. The suspects appeared before the district and sessions judge, Muhammad Yamin, on Wednesday for confirmation or otherwise in the hearing of the bail applications. The judge fixed the hearing for July 17.  Shahrukh Jatoi, who has been convicted in the Shahzeb Khan murder case, had slipped away from the country to evade arrest after the murder and was brought back by the police after he was deported from Dubai.

Shahrukh, with the support of the suspects, had fraudulently managed to get an air ticket and boarding pass in the name of Syed Shahrukh with the motive to hide his true identity. The charge sheet revealed that Shahrukh travelled on Emirates Airline flight EK 605 on December 27, 2012.
