Leaders of different religious parties and groups under the platform of Milli Yakjheti Council (MYC) appealed on Tuesday to religious scholars and clerics across the country to launch a protest campaign against the military coup in Egypt.
All religious scholars and mosque clerics will condemn the recent military coup against President Mohamed Mursi in Egypt during next Friday sermons followed by protest rallies in all major cities.
“Firing and killing 51 people when they are offering prayers was an act of brutality by the Egyptian army which was highly condemnable,” said MYC’s vice president Asif Luqman Qazi, a son of former Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Qazi Hussain Ahmed.
MYC is a consortium of both Sunni and Shia religious parties including JI, Jamiat-e-Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) and other religious groups. It was the brainchild of the late Qazi Hussain with the purpose to unite all religious parties on a common ground and work towards establishing peace and harmony, MYC statement said.
Qazi, while condemning the military’s recent “atrocities” in Egypt against pro-Mursi protestors and the very act of toppling his government and suspending the constitution said that the Egyptian army was acting on the directions of their masters, the United States of America.
He lodged an appeal to the Muslim Ummah to unite against the military coup in Egypt and the killing of Muslims. “What kind of army opens fire on its own people?” asked Qazi. He called upon the international community to support the majority in Egypt for the restoration of Mursi’s legitimate government.
MYC leader Maulana Amin Shaheedi added that the military coup in any part of the world was condemnable. He said the entire episode staged by the Egyptian army was scripted by the US which did not want to see an Islamic government in Egypt.

A good back blow ......
@ roadkashahjada . Well said . I liked your approach of attack on the issue .
As stated ' its democracy vr mobocracy . That means the mob of the 30% people of the country are enough to toppel the 70% people .
How they dared ......
Pakistan is here to help you....
@GhostRider: You seem concerned about women. Good. Lest you know that during anti-Morsi demonstrations, Tehrir square became rape square, what an achievement, what an anti-Morsi revolution of highest order! Failed at ballot, succeeded at Tehrir square. Iti s democracy versus mobocracy.
JI always raise voice against ilegal activities in pakistan and help affected pepoles even any 01 liberal member goes to th houses of affected pepoles in bomb blasts only ..... talking ......
@Tamur watchout latest news US is supporting the rebels at Egypt, moreover people woh are against Mursi are only 30% whereas supporters are almost 70%. We are against a dictator ship which the army has imposed on egyptians.
Apparently every thing is hunky dory in Pakistan that the faithful have turned their attention to Egypt. These JI memebers never condemn the TTP or other militant organizations , they continue their rant agaisnt America as if they are the cause of all our problems and stick their noses where it doesnt belong...
@sulfi. The Egyptians who threw Morsi out are also our Brothers and Sisters, so from what you have said, it seems you only support the fundamentalist brothers, not the liberal ones.
Morsi broke his promises and the people threw him out. They gave him a chance as he promised to work together with secular and liberal parties instead he made a new rigid constitution to turn Egypt into another Saudi Arabia and people did not want that. It is same thing IK has done by giving the notion that he is a liberal leader but has engaged himself with JI who are party to the Muslim Brotherhood regime across the world. At least Egyptians came out to overthrow someone they did not like or they felt was not fit for the job. When will Pakistanis do something like this when they see their leaders failing to fulfil their election promises?
Yes. We should protest. Once the Egyptian army hears about this, they will back off and make Morsi president.
Saudi arabia and UAE have already transferred 5 billion and 3 billion dollars respectively into Egyptian central bank the day after Morsi left. Their envoys are in Cairo to congratulate General Al-Sissi for successful removal of Morsi. Chapter closed.
Just want to ask one thing. Are Chinese Muslims not part of the "UMMAH"
ET seriously needs to improve upon its editorial & content quality. Placing the picture of late Qazi sb is non-sense. This website has just become another online social media platform where people from diverse backgrounds & ideologies come & bash bash other.
@Pappoo: morsi was a first elected president of egypt he was a fudamentalist right wing fanatic who got what he deserved
JI is the main party of MEC and JI always raised voice of all issues related to pakistan ,target kiling in Karachi, drone attacks ,missing persons,loadsheding..... so as they raise voice against militry action in egypt why crticies them....... All muslims are brothers.... Egyptians are our brothers...
Are they care for these Pakistani mullah hahahahah
Statement of Asif Luqman Qazi and photo of Qazi Hussain. Kiya yeh khulla tazaad nahi??
It is amazing how the whole world is kept silent on the issue of Egypt (western ambassadors have done their jobs). Not many countries have even condemed the military coup. Unbeleivable. Atleast government of Sharif should have raised their voice, they have been in same position as the Brotherhood is in now. One can flip flop the case as musch as one want, but the fact remains : democratically elected president was toppled by the military and the guardians of democracy kept silence..............................
I will condemn the recent military coup against President Mohamed Mursi in Egypt
Its really mind boggling why we have to protest about another country internal matters. As if we dont have enough trouble here in our house.
Think about the innocent Pakistanis being slaughtered every day, does any one cares.
Specially some of the Clerics (I dont mean all of them), never they have done anything for our poor people safety and well being.
Believe me the world and specially Islamic never gives a second thought about our sorry state of affairs.o why are we so much concerened about other country problems.
how is the change of governemnt in egypt our business? why should we care about it? we were protesting when hosni mobarak was ousted and we are ready to protest when mursi is ousted. tomorrow albradie will be our hero and we ll protest when he is ousted. not to mention pollute our air by burning tyres, breaking electricity poles and burning private and government vehicles. wht will this protest achieve? does egyptian millitary/public even know son of qazi sb? why are we fooling ourselves and wasting time and money?
who is Morsi!???
They will never unite against terror activities in Pakistan, they will not shed a word against mistreatment of women but they will scream their heart out against internal matters of a country which is not connected to us in anyway. i dont see these protests happening in middle east.
