Postings and transfers: Ports and shipping see major changes

Most heads of departments terminated.

The government on Tuesday terminated the contracts of a number of senior ports and shipping officials.


The officials include National Shipping Corporation Chairman Admiral (retd) Muhammad Shafi, Ports and Shipping Director General Vice Admiral (retd) Aleem Ahmed Minai, Gwadar Port Authority Chairman Vice-Admiral (retd) Fazal Shamim Anwer, and Port Qasim Authority Chairman Brigadier (retd) Saeed Ahmed Khan.

The contract of Pakistan Commission for Unesco Secretary General Iftikhar Hussain was also cancelled.

In addition, two deputationists have been recalled from the provinces to rejoin the federal government.

Mohsin S Haqqani, a BS-21 Pakistan Administrative Service officer on deputation with the government of Sindh, has been posted as Establishment Division additional secretary, while Tahir Ayub, a BS-18 Police Service of Pakistan officer presently posted in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, has been posted in the Federal Investigation Agency.

Meanwhile, Board of Investment (BoI) Additional Secretary Imran Afzal Cheema has been appointed acting BoI secretary, and Security Printing Corporation Managing Director Rizwan Ahmed has been posted as Pakistan Trading Corporation chairman.
