Two BDS officials killed while defusing bomb in Swabi

The residents of the people had alerted the officials after spotting the bomb.

SWABI: 2 officials from the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) were killed while defusing a bomb planted near a middle school for boys in the Jamalabad area of Swabi on Monday.

The bomb was planted near the boundary wall of the middle school.

Police official, Noor Zamin Khan said that residents of the area informed the police upon spotting the bomb near the Swabi-Jahangira Road.

The BDS in-charge Alamgir Shah was then alerted who along with head constable, Junaid Khan rushed to the site.

The two officials were trying to defuse the bomb when it exploded, killing Alamgir and Junaid.

Police officials that were guarding the area shifted the bodies to Swabi headquarters hospital.

Sad demise. Were they really trained for the job or just out of emotion they tried to defuse the bomb. Its a complicated operation and experts do not die that easily. Hope facts will be found out.
