RAWALPINDI: The City Traffic Police Rawalpindi has evolved a comprehensive plan to control traffic in Ramazan, according to Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) SP Ishtiaq Hussain.

He issued the Ramazan traffic plan at Race Course Traffic Police Headquarters on Sunday. Special traffic squads and enhanced number of traffic wardens will be deployed at all main intersections of the city whereas a helpline has also been set up with a dedicated staff, he stated.

The CTO said the duty timings of traffic wardens will be increased, aimed at ensuring the smooth flow of traffic, adding that special arrangements are being made to control traffic jams so citizens can easily reach their destinations within the shortest possible time.  In order to provide relief to the public, strict action against transporters charging exorbitant fares has also been ordered, he said.
