Kasuri has served as the President of PTI’s Women Wing in the past. Her decision to contest for NA-48 came soon after a meeting with PTI Chairman Imran Khan on Saturday night, a close aide of Kasuri told The Express Tribune on Sunday.
“She will contest the elections from NA-48 as an independent candidate—Imran Khan failed to address her concerns last night [Saturday],” the aide explained.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan invited her for a meeting on July 6 at a fundraising programme for Khan’s NAMAL College at Mianwali.
Fauzia Kasuri had parted her ways with PTI months back but had hung in because Imran Khan had promised to address her concerns.
A number of angry leaders and workers including the President of Youth Wing at PTI's Islamabad chapter, Aamir Mughal, assured her of their unconditional support.
Last week, in a meeting of the parliamentary board, PTI Chairman Imran Khan decided to award the party’s ticket for NA-48 Islamabad to Asad Umar.
The seat of NA-48 constituency was vacated by Makhdoom Javed Hashmi of PTI in the general elections of 11th May.

@Junaid: I did not mean that AU was doing anything illegal. He had every right to make money and his success is appreciated. My only contention is that just because he was very successful in the corporate space does not automatically qualify him to come in and take over opportunities that others have toiled to create in the field. I was just raising a few questions and in the process trying to show that Ms. Kasuri's anger is not unjustified.
@Syeda Kazmi: I would have appreciated him and IK more if he had served as a foot soldier when IK was being hauled by Musharraf. It doesn't speak very highly that he was safely sitting as the Engro chairman till such time as the going was tough and you had to battle dictatorship if you joined PTI. And then join PTI as soon as PTIs stars started looking up.
no one should be above party decision. we can all have difference of opinion but once party has decided we have to stick by it. ms. kasuri may have contributed a lot to the party but asad umer is the brains and future of the party. long live pti

@FAZ: Fighting against Khatak or a Chaudhry is something else. A good Qasuri, like most from that neighborhood, would always consider a Karachi Wala, which Asad is, a soft target. Someone, who must be humiliated, sad to see a man of Asad's intelligence falling in this trap voluntrarily.

She joined PTI, that was her deicsion. She left PTI, that was her decision. She is contesting, that is her decision. Had PTI bought her that she could not do any thing on heer own ??

This definitely proves the disunity in PTI and Imran Khan has failed to rule on PTI just due to excessive overconfidence and overintelligence because CM KPK Pervez Khattak has also refused to obey Imran Khan's order to quit party's post and Fauzia Kasuri is participating in the by-elections in NA-48 as an independent candidate..... This is better that Fauzia Kasuri has to get PML-N's ticket for participating in NA-48's by-elections....

Fauzia was interviewed by a TV channel and through out the program she failed to convince and do not have valid greivance except N.A TICKET; how the party can give him ticket as her DUAL NATIONALITY case which is still in process and thats why she were kept down in TICKET AWARDING LIST. Actually these KASURI'S love POWER POLTICS but this time no family member is in the assembly is really shocking for them. ASAD UMAR is a real ICON and ticket is being awarded on merit; would you like to name anyone who can replace ASAD UMAR in PTI keeping in veiw his professional capabilities and convencing style (See your poll result). I dont understand. Sacrifices dont mean that you are entitled to a seat or an office or a title. Are we after titles or is our real purpose to contribute to the good of Pakistan. Fauzia Kasuri has shown her intent. Her intent is maligned. If she has made valuable contributions towards Pakistan she should continue to do so. She has shown lack of adult and political maturity.
She has set wrong precedents where if things dont go your way then just get up and leave. This is democracy and we are working towards a naya Pakistan a better Pakistan. Who cares about seats and titles.
Fauzia should have shown grace by supporting PTI not going against them. Well then again she was in it for her office for self gain. Very unfortunate for a women her stature to do what is onluy expected from the likes of Sharifs and Zardaris.

I voted in NA48. I have also met FK in London few weeks before election and admired her zeal and commitment. Despite that I will vote for PTI not to independent candidate. This will only divide votes in my constituency and will help opposition to grab the seat.
In addition, PTI has nominated Asad Umar very strong candidate and have no other motive other than to serve this nation. Bad move FK. Please don't make it personal.
Obviously she doesn't think she can win -- she only wants to prove a point that she has some residual support in that constituency, and wants to ruin Umar's chances by splitting the PTI vote.

I guess she is very deliberate at this moment. She really doesn't know what do given the fact that PTI has refused to award her ticket for by-election or a reserved seat for that matter of fact. So, she is trying to do everything in her power to grab a seat. She definitely has a lust of power but in my humble opinion, she has served her party long and well and thus, she should've been given a ticket or a reserved seat in return for her numerous contributions to the party.

What has Assad Umar's contribution been to building of PTI? Where was Assad Umar when IK launched the party and was in dire need of support? Where was he when Musharraf was hounding his opponents? Well Assad Umar was being smart and minting money. Now that he has minted enough money, he thinks he should put some time to taking care of the affairs of Pakistan. This is what happens in real life. The people who toil for the ideology are the ones that put in sweat and blood. Then the smart ones come in and take over all that has been built.
