Haunted Battlefields: Documentary makers head to Lyari

Forced evacuations and gun battle between two groups in Lyari have turned the areas from Ali Muhammad Muhalla to Mirza Adam Khan Road ideal for those interested in capturing the impact of violence in post-conflict societies. Documentary makers from various media organisations and institutions headed to Lyari on on Saturday.



They were trying to speak to members of the Kutchi community as they filmed vacant streets and empty houses in the area. The reporters eagerly captured in their cameras houses and shops that had been robbed or set on fire in Rahimabad, Mandra Mohalla, alFalah Road and Bihar Colony.

The documentary makers were also anxious to cover the lucky ones, whose houses were safe, and who were still living in different community centres of Agra Taj Colony.
