@Observer: Even US, with all her resources, couldn't do that. The geography of AF-PAK border is so challenging that let alone wiring, even proper patrolling is often a big challenge. @Hedgefunder: The problem is that governance structure in FATA was so weak that it couldn't sustain insurgency. Lashkars being used to fight TTP speaks volumes about absence and ineffectiveness of LEAs against TTP fountainhead. Unless we dont bring FATA under proper governance (consolidating the territories into a province or whatever alternatives) and then establish an effective Law Enforcement Infrastructure on expeditionary basis, the situation will remain as it is.
A simple hobby it has to become. Bomb blasts; now a routine.
Looks like recent fatwah against suicide bombings has been ignored- a lesson for the mullahs
Please spare a thought for us novices in the west ! Have you actually got a Border, and has it ever been maintained or recognized by the people who have lived in the region for past couple of centuries ? It was obvious to the British that it could never have been implemented and neither has Pakistan managed or tried to do so, since its inception. So what makes you think that it can be done today ? Its obvious that, its not been the case !" So how are you going to deal with this task ? You guys don't even have ability to stop suicide bombers in your major metro cities, let alone deal with these border issues !
@Hedgefunder: Yes, we have the ability to fence the border area. Look at the eastern front. But our Afghan brother in Kabul, don't think its legal to fence international recognized border. I guess they are worried about opium money will be illegally taxed in Pakistan or something.
@Observer: Have you got the resources to deal with such a project ? Has the Army got the ability to actually act, as its obvious that in this Maze, they also have their Strategic Assets, as far as they are concerned ! Such flawed policies have never brought any positive results in the history of Civilisation and are not likely to do so in this case either ! This is going to be Pakistan's Karma, in few years time.
This border should be locked down like the North/South Korean border. The lack of security has led to these deaths, sadly.
The greatest fear is that, these events that occur on daily basis will soon become non newsworthy items !
