Poverty: Man burned ‘by wife’

SIALKOT: A man was burned to death allegedly by his wife on here Wednesday. Police registered a case against her. She has, however, denied the allegation and said that her husband had committed suicide. Police quoted Samira Bibi as saying that her husband Arshad had been unemployed for months. She said it had become difficult to make both ends meet. She said they had had frequent arguments over money. On Wednesday, she said, they again had an argument and her locked himself in the room and set him self on fire. Arshad’s family said that they suspected that Samira Bibi had killed Arshad.  Police said initial investigations suggested that Arshad was murdered. They said the body had been sent for a post-mortem examination.
