A consumer court on Wednesday issued a notice to Bardana Merchants for August 28 in a petition seeking damages of half a million rupees.
Petitioner Shahbaz told the court that he sold seeds. On March 25, he placed an order with the proprietor of Bardana Merchants on Multan Road for 5,000 transparent plastic bags. These were to have printed logos for his shop and were for packing corn seeds. The transaction was worth Rs137,500. He paid Rs3,0000 in advance.
On April 6, the bags were delivered and upon inspection, found to be of poor quality. They were also not transparent, the petitioner said.
Shahbaz said he complained to the respondent, but he had refused to replace the plastic bags.
The petitioner asked the court to direct the respondent to return the Rs137,500 he had paid for the bags. He also demanded Rs500,000 in damages.

What was in the notice? no mention of that which makes this a useless read! Did he win the case? Are there success stories in dealing with consumer courts?
