Latin america: Uruguay invites Pakistani investors

The ambassador said that companies from China, India and Japan are already doing good business in Uruguay.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani entrepreneurs should explore Uruguay for business opportunities, investment and joint ventures Ambassador of Uruguay to Pakistan Juan Carlos Ojeda said during his visit to the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) here on Wednesday.

The ambassador said that companies from China, India and Japan are already doing good business in Uruguay.

“Pakistani companies should also make efforts to have some presence in this region, which is an important economic block,” he said, adding that Uruguay’s investment regime is quite favourable and does not discriminate between foreign and domestic investors and imposes no restrictions on repatriation of capital and profits.
