A house was partially destroyed when a bomb exploded in Sheikh Dheri area of Swabi district on Wednesday.
Fayaz Khan, an official of Chauta Lahor police said Sajjad Khan, the owner of the house, reported that he lives on the outskirts of Sheikh Dheri village. He, along with his family members, was sleeping when a loud explosion woke them up.
Sajjad and his son stepped out of their house and saw that a room adjacent to the back wall had been demolished due to the impact of the explosion.
Fayaz added that at around 11:30am police officials went to investigate the site of the explosion and found another bomb had been planted near the demolished room.
A bomb disposal squad official was called in who defused the bomb and reported that two kilogrammes of explosives had been used in it.
