Obituary: Senior journalist passes away

His funeral prayers will be offered at 9am on Wednesday.

ISLAMABAD: Senior journalist Anwar Feroz died here on Tuesday. Born in 1938 Firozpur, British India, he settled in Attock after partition.

He completed his early education in Firozpur and later completed his masters from Gordon College Rawalpindi in the 1960s.

He started his career as a journalist at Tameer newspaper and also worked for New Times.

Most of his professional life was spent with Nawa-e-Waqt, where he retired from in 2012 after 36 years of service.

Since then, he had worked as a freelance contributor and columnist for various newspapers.

He also wrote a collection of poetry, while his book “Naya Columbus”, a travalogue, is currently being published. He leaves behind four sons and three daughters.

His funeral prayers will be offered at 9am on Wednesday. The procession will be taken from his home in Satellite town and he will be laid to rest at the Islamabad Graveyard H-8.
