Promotion: Secretary sets deadlines for paperwork

The PMA officials raised various issues including a ban on ex-Pakistan leave, adhoc and regular appointments.

Health Secretary Hassan Iqbal has directed his department to complete the paperwork for the promotion of associate professors (grade-19) to professors (grade-20) by July 22, so they could be formally promoted by the Provincial Selection Board.


At a meeting with Pakistan Medical Association representatives on Monday, he also directed the additional secretary concerned to finalise the paperwork for the promotion of 175 assistant principal medical officers and assistant principal women medical officers (grade-19) to principal medical officers and principal women medical officers (grade-20) by July 25. He asked the PMA delegation to ask the doctors due for promotion to submit their annual confidential reports.The PMA officials raised various other issues, including a ban on ex-Pakistan leave, the seniority list, adhoc and regular appointments and faculty at new medical colleges.
