ISLAMABAD: Nepal and Pakistan have great potential to increase bilateral trade, they should focus on promoting direct connectivity and linkages between their private sectors to tap these trade opportunities, said Nepal’s Ambassador to Pakistan Bharat Raj Paudyalmade. Talking to the business community during his visit to the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), the ambassador said agriculture was an area of good mutual cooperation. He was of the view that both the countries should explore products of comparative advantages favoured by their specific climatic zones, adding that Pakistan’s know-how in agro-processing industries should be expanded to Nepal through establishment of joint ventures. The envoy said that Pakistani entrepreneurs in collaboration with their Nepalese counterparts successfully organised three consecutive single country exhibitions in Kathmandu in 2010, 2011 and 2012. They should now reciprocate by hosting similar trade fairs of Nepalese products in Pakistan which will contribute to improving bilateral trade.
