The contracts of corrupt officials should be cancelled according to the orders.
According to the prime minister, to arrive at a corruption-free government, the selection and appointment process for officers working at integral institutions requires strict scrutiny.
For Nawaz, the people of Pakistan have placed their faith in the government and he cannot afford to disappoint them.
The federal secretaries and cabinet will keep the prime minister informed of any developments and changes made.

Shall we start at Top or Bottom, Mr PM ?
@Akbar Khan: May 11 continues to haunt PTI eventhough IK has openly admitted the mistakes that people (then called lafafa journalists by PTI) have been pointing out. Grow trees, not ego my frind
@Syed A. Mateen: A board is just not enough. With the size of public services workforce, it would be very difficult for such a board to oversee each and everything. We will have to eliminate the root-causes. Some of the crucial ones are 1- Frictions in the systems which aid corruptions. A system re-engineering is what can be done to address this but since each department has its own set of operational-procedures so it should be better left to the people from within (with good repute) to redesign the systems for minimizing aids to corruption. 2-Competitive remuneration to attract talent and soften the trade offs between public interest and corruption. Government can follow the Singapore model where the government sector competes with private sector for talent and public administration is managed on the structure of private organizations. 3- Revitalization the current anti-corruption infrastructure. I believe that we have necessary infrastructure in place, but the politicization and incompetence has adversely affected their performance. Government should put some efforts in revitalizing the available infrastructure rather than spending time and resources on new infrastructures.
@Uza Syed: Yeah thanks for correcting me. Reminds me of Dawn where readers and writers lay emphasis on vocab than the concept itself. However, I do enjoy self-satisfying fantasies.
This is a commendable step!! Journey of thousand miles always starts with a single step. The largest majority of Pakistanis supports you and the proof is that PMLN is the only political party of Pakistan to secure more than 14 million votes, despite all negative propaganda by PPPPTI. Mr Sharif, the voters have given you the mandate to clean up the Aegean stable and steer the country out of multiple crisis of massive loadshedding, terrorism, target killings etc and all these problems are exacerbated by corruption. There can be no two opinions that corrupt officials should be fired immediately but please make sure that no innocent official loses his job on the basis of mere allegations. Kindly establish ANTI-CORRUPTION TRIBUNALs all over the country to independently investigate the corruption cases and, on the basis of concrete evidence, decide the cases and punish the culprits within short span of time. We all remember how PPP used to play delaying tactics in prolonging various investigations of corruption cases of Steel Mills, PIA, NLC, NILC, IB, Hajj Department etc etc. The nation has very high hopes from PMLN and it will fulfill the expectations InshaAllah.
@maj: Unless we keep forces involved in bureaucracy, such events will continue to surface.
Water flows downwards. The main causes of corruption is not the officers only. The extreme and continued political interference in the matters is another big cause. When the Officers have to obey just because the PM or the CM is ordering something no matter how wrong it is according to rules and procedures, the story of corruption begins.
First of all the political party have to restrict his minsters to go by the book and avoid breaking the rules just to satisfy their ego or petty interest of their local leaders.
Not only in remote areas, even in Karachi the decisions are taken according to the wishes of the concerned political leaders and works are awarded to the people of their choices.
The results of election 2013 have not been acceptable to the 'ones we dont talk about' for precisely this reason. For over 65 years they have raped and robbed this country. The only check and balance that is there is the democratic process and media is its watchdog. The next assault will be on media and this will be designed to pave the way for reversal of democracy before the end of 2014. It is not only a matter of contract of corrupt employees, but the entire system of the country is corrupt.
Right from top to bottom all government servants whether Federal Goverment or Provincial Governments (with few exceptions) are corrupt.
There should be board constituted based on the honest people of Pakistan to oversee the affairs of the government servants right from Grade 22 to Grade 1.
The board should have members at the provincial level who should be empowered to investigate the income and expenditure of the government servants and unearth as how did the government servants manage to own expensive properties by taking illegal gratification from the general public.
"the contract of corrupt officials should be cancelled"..... so that I can fill in MY own corrupt officials!!!!
@sa: regardless of party sympathy......think like a nation and read the below news.
http://dawn.com/news/1021969/caa-bends-rules-to-appoint-influential-person
Well done keep it up. The most corrupt people are atleast trying to clean up corrupt officials. Nawaz calls for termination of corrupt officials. There are so many cases against the corrupt bureacrats, leaders, ministers, officers are pending with Supreme Court, High Courts and Lower courts in the country.
I am not in favour of any political party in the country. The same leaders after taking bath and changing new dresses and hair style came into the power. Just imagine if Imran Khan was P.M. then these words were suited to his tongue. Nawaz Sharif has taken his third term but not learnt anything from his past mistakes. Rather than to remove the various problems of the common people in the country they are creating problems for masses. Just before I have gone through one news that petroleum and crude prices have decreased in Asia but from today there is price increase in petroluem product in the country. Now the Government will fetch a huge amount of money from the pockets of common people. The people are facing different type of bombs in their daily lives. Bombs are Terrorism, Snatching, Corruption, Sui Gas, CNG, Electricity, Petroluem Prices.
After going through the above news I recollect myself one audio jokes of late Moin Akhtar.
One man suddenly reaches to his residence during the afternoon for searching some urgent documents. His home was locked so he enquired with the neighbour where is his wife. The neighbour informed that she went to watch movie in a nearby cinema hall. He went to cinema hall and matinee show film was going on. He asked the gate keeper of the cinema hall pls call my wife the gate keeper asked the name of wife. Due to hesitation he advised the gate keeper just announce in the hall that "jo biwi apney mian sey pooch kar nahin ayee hai woh cinema hall sey bahar ajaye. Pura cineme hall khali hogya.
If P.M. will fires the corrupt officials then who will run the country because we as a nation has already rejected all Islami Jamaat in the country. Mr. P.M. please try your best to make appointment on merit no more favouritsm. Before appointment of the officers please check their authenticity, credulity, credibility first. Get complete background of atleast three generations. The corruptions and bribes run atleast three generations. It is human physiology which runs if father is corrupt his son is also corrupt or if father is not corrupt his paternal uncle is corrupt then his nephew is corrupt. It is called red tapism which runs from the blood.
@sa:
May be he is one of the few PMLN voters who are honest?
so what is the criteria here?
@Open
you are not a voter of PML - N, this we expect from you only nagtivety
Really and who will terminate CORRUPT POLITICIAN???
In other words install PMLN's people.
It is just another gimmic.to gain mileage lost in the stupid budget presented by Ishaq Dar. I can bet you not a single corrup official will be removed, becuse they are saints and faultless
Termination will require procedure. We need another government, as big as present Govt of Pakistan, to examine and start proceedings. Will he break the rules? Then it will be high treason.
So when are you going home? How much your farewell sherwani will cost???
@Xnain: You are right, let that first step be in right direction and that leads you to the man at the top and his name? you guessed it right Mohammad Nawaz Sharif.
By the way the word is UTOPIA, you know what I mean.
Azia,
We already have NAB whose core job description is to root out corruption from institutions but instead of pulling them out they joined the same league!
"Nawaz calls for termination of corrupt officials"
How ironic!
It mean there is no officer left in Pakistan
So what is Mian saab going to do about this:
http://dawn.com/news/1021969/caa-bends-rules-to-appoint-influential-person
Govt should creat department where we can report corrupt office name without idenifing ourself
This is a rhetoric and the reality is bureaucracy has very strong roots in our system. If he really wants to eliminate corruption the first step should be a paperless office environments (Automated). By doing so accountability would become very easy.
Let's start with firing at the top, you go first Mr Prime Minister you know as well as we do that you are corrupt to your core.
I really appreciate government's this initiative
Good start by selling PIA to the Manshas..
What about daily killings and energy crisis?
Interesting comments! A nation of Socrates considers everything insufficient. They want an Eutopian Pakistan in a matter of days. Well my friends thats not gonna happen, every journey starts with a single step. And I hope this initiative is also followed by provinces.
Good omen....
so who's corrupt? whats the criteria of a corrupt officer? how will they find that officer is corrupt?
Good intentions mean nothing..............if you don't set the example, and Sir your credibility is questionable.
Yep, that's exactly why one of the first thing he has done is to bring NAB under the control of the PM. No, the NAB doesn't need to be indipendent at all. Well done, Nawaz Sharif, well done. . . .
yousuf raza gillani used to say the same thing
So when hes going !
