LAHORE: The top leadership of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) will meet its disgruntled workers to discuss various problems growing within the party since the general elections, Express News reported.

PPP representatives have been going to their respective constituencies and have been discussing various problems with their workers there, PPP President Makhdoom Amin Fahim told Express News.

He said that there were a few major concerns for the PPP that would be discussed, particularly the PPP’s performance in the May 11 elections.

Discussion and restructuring of the party was not just taking place in Sindh, but PPP representatives were holding meetings and discussing problems in NWFP, Punjab and Balochistan as well, Fahim said.

Fahim said that the party should restructure itself not only in the public domain, but in parliament as well.

He also said that a few PPP representatives were being accused of crimes they did not commit, a problem that would also be addressed.

He said that when political parties are functioning in a democratic environment, there is no harm in discussions within the party.

Fahim, Bilawal and other top PPP leaders should go to the old PPP members and apologize to them, take care of their genuine complaints and bring them back on ideological grounds. PPP has to become an openly progressive party with social programs for all.
