KARAK:

Twelve women and a number of children were among 25 injured in a heavy storm in Karak on Saturday evening. The storm, coupled with intense rains, hit Tor Dhand, Khoja Algada, Ambeeri Kalan, Takhat-i-Nasrati, and Chokara, destroying several houses in its path. Strong winds caused heavy destruction in the areas and inflicted losses to livestock and property as walls and roofs collapsed.

Due to the storm, communication and power supply remained disrupted with hospitals declaring emergencies. People faced immense problems in reaching Karak’s hospitals due to blocked roads. MPA Gul Sahib Khan and acting deputy commissioner Irfanullah visited Karak City Hospital and directed the officials to make a consistent effort in providing health assistance to victims of the storm. He also directed relevant authorities to assess the damage and devise methods of providing relief.
