Three people were killed and three others injured when the roof of a house collapsed in Umar Adda, about 4 kilometres south of Tank City, late Thursday Night.

Police officials at Shaheed Mureed Akber police station said the family of Frontier Corps (FC) Junior Commissioned Officer, Hisbullah, was sleeping in the backyard at around midnight when a torrential downpour began.

The family members rushed inside and took shelter in one of the rooms when the roof collapsed, killing Hisbullah’s 50-year old mother Qisamjana, his nine-year old son Waliullah and six-year old daughter Sumaya.

The injured were identified as Hisbullah’s wife Mehrunisa, 11-year-old daughter Uroosh and two-year-old daughter Ansa. They were shifted to District Headquarters Hospital, Tank for treatment. According to hospital officials, all the injured are in stable condition.

The incident was reported by Attaullah, Hisbullah’s brother. The deceased and injured were recovered by neighbours from the debris of the collapsed roof. Hisbullah, the head of the ill-fated family, was not present at home at the time of the incident.
