Nawaz Sharif said that the new energy policy will turn out to be panacea to energy crisis confronting the country.
Speaking about the people and the national economy having suffered badly due to crippling power crisis, he said that it is high time that prudent and consistent policies are implemented to help everyone come out of this morass.
The meeting briefly discussed the main features of the new energy policy.
It was also decided that the new power policy would be announced shortly by the Prime Minister.
Last week, the federal minister for water and power Khwaja Mohammad Asif announced that a new energy policy will be announced soon. How can each person in Pakistan create Energy to help Pakistan out of this crisis? Very easy. I do it all the time. Every time you turn OFF a 13 watt CFL energy saver you are actually CREATING 13 Watts of ENERGY like a power plant. Its that simple. If you replace a 26 watt cfl with a 13Watt LED bulb you are generating 13 watts for Pakistan.
People of Pakistan can ease their pain by truly partnering with PM Nawaz and his Energy Team. Best way is if in homes and retail businesses if you have 10 saver bulbs just turn OFF 5 bulbs and leave 5 ON. Collective this will help a lot and 180 million Pakistanis will instantly become private sector partners of the new government. Try it you will like it.
All the right moves to START solving energy disaster with small steps. People will have understand that the process of fixing the energy problem will be slow and painful. I have always said that "SAVING ENERGY is same as MAKING ENERGY". People of Pakistan can ease their pain by truly partnering with PM Nawaz and his Energy Team.
@Yasir So you want to wait years before the govt starts working towards a solution for energy, taking their good time in designing and testing different policies before they arrive at the best one?
@jibran: Desperate
Nawaz Sarif hardly have covered only 1 week as PM and he is taking steps very fast but like an uneducated person i means whatever they are approving are policies not any solitaire game.Policies need to be 1st studied and it takes months to study before you get to give your approval but Nawaz sarif seems have not studied those policies and are approving them like he will complete pakistans entire many approvals in only 2 months and will not take 5 year for which he was elected.Well Nawaz sarif seems to be very excited to become a PM but this king of ssuperfast approval will bring disaster in long run.I dont undrestan why Nawaz is in so hurry he has 5 years in his hand ??? Policies doesn’t take 1 days or week but years to flourish Cheers….
The new energy policy will be that everyone walks with his own mobile solar lamp. Problem solved!
@SM: That seems to be like PML N policy. The two brothers made trillions in commissions and kickbacks. Then laundered that money in 40 suitcases to jeddah. Again, the little brother has been in punjab for 6 years, and spent entire province resources on tandoors and laptops. Not a single watt of energy.
Usual PML N mantra. Just dancing around the question, without giving the actual answer. Again, no anouncement of the energy policy, merely an anouncement of anouncing the energy policy.
@Adnan: State like gujarat does not have any load shedding as producing surplus electricity
@Shan:
Yeah, and you still have load-shedding!
@unbelievable: The PPP government had no energy policy. Their only policy was to loot, sleep and keep saying "everything would be ok" so anything is better than that policy.
Lolz, this energy policy will actually turn out to be a load shedding time table. Above it says
" the government is working on a roadmap to ensure equitable load-shedding as directed by the Supreme Court"
Ya Allah Khair
New energy policy: 50% Nawaz Sharif/50% Anybody
Good to know but who will ensure that they follow the policy regardless of any troubles ahead.
There have been too many planned policies in the past, WE NEED ACTION THIS TIME!
@Daud
So exactly what is the energy policy you seem so happy about? From what I just read it's just a promise to release an energy policy - with no mention about what's in the policy or whether it has any credibility. One thing for sure - it's going to take money to purchase fuel and production facilities and so far the govt is unwilling to raise taxes or cut the military budget so chances are whatever "policy" you come up with may not be worth the paper it's written on.
India's one state gujarat produce much more electricity than whole pakistan combined.
HOPE is all that is left of me and somehow,, it still resists to fade off...
Finally!! there is an energy policy!! Good intiative!!
