ISLAMABAD:

Physics department heads from 18 Pakistani universities met at the National Centre for Physics (NCP) on Thursday to discuss ways of promoting scientific research in the country.

The meeting aimed at devising strategies to create an enabling environment for Physics learning and identifying focus areas in Physics for future research.

The department heads said there was a shortage of energetic scientists in the country.

They agreed that national collaborations between Pakistani universities and the NCP should be encouraged by holding training sessions, workshops and symposia for young researchers.

They also stressed on the need for Pakistani universities to collaborate internationally.

NCP Director-General Dr Hamid Saleem said the centre was committed to providing all of its available resources to scientists and researchers from any national university or research institute for the promotion of scientific culture.

Quaid-i-Azam University, University of Karachi, University of Peshawar, Government College University Lahore, Punjab University and the COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, Islamabad, were among the 18

It's good to learn such events taking place in Pakistan again. We need more and more scientific research to channelize the potentials of engineers/physicists and chemists in the positive direction. I hope they continue to have these meetings. In my opinion, the best way is to arrange certain contests from school , college, university and professional levels to encourage more and more people to be part of it.

Long Live Pakistan !
