PESHAWAR: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Pervez Khattak informed the house on Wednesday that he has paid the bill for the helicopter he used to visit Haripur from his pocket.
Speaking on the assembly floor, Khattak said that some friends sitting in the assembly were circulating the news. He said he later realised that it was not proper to use it (the helicopter), and asked his secretary to pay the bill.
Dilating the details surrounding the use of helicopter, Khattak said that they had earlier planned to travel to Haripur by road. However, due to a meeting with World Food Programme executive director he had to use it.
The Chief Minister also regretted that no one had ever paid attention to use of this helicopter in the past, however, now cartoons are being made and it was news on TV.
Khattak maintained that the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government in K-P will bring a change and people will be able to see it.
On Tuesday, the PTI chief Imran Khan took notice of Khattak's helicopter use and restricted him from using the service again.

Pervez Khattak should not have been chosen as the CM of KP. Asad Qaiser or any other new face would have been a better choice. Symbolically, too, it would have been better.

Your track record of swinging political parties (PPP, Sherpao, ANP, PTI) and nepotism by inducting 3 women family members against reserved seats. I accept your point at its face value, however probably you know better than me, and leave aside elders, our kids are suffering, because our doctors are fake,our medications are fake - adulterated. we all care less about others, myself included. Ozair, these CM, president and PM are suppose to act like elder brothers and fathers. Be honest do they give you that sense? Now about Heli Bill, there are many who can afford, and one should use it in an emergency i.e SICKNESS. but why not managing time wisely and spend such bill money to pay to provide drinking water to kids of, Say Baluchistan or any other part of Pakistan, provide better schooling to our kids. The governments are made to rule and they are doing the same thing, what else is wrong in it. The voters have shown confidence, than why other people are jealous with them. @expaki: He is a contractor who builds buildings outside KPK. I think this is more than enough to justify how he can manage this. And the bill is not too much. Even if you use a plane for the whole day, it will cost you around 7-10 lakh. For helicopter it should not be more than 1-2 lakh. I think he committed a mistake by using the helicopter, but its good that our politician can correct anything if anyone points that. This is what we call change.

Our ministers in Germany often come under criticism from the media( certainly not from their party leaders or the Prime minister, as this would be culturaly not acceptable) and this is explained and jusified on the basis of urgency. No political figure in Europe will ever volunteer to pay from their pockets.

Its about time that the KPK Government implement the holistic edict of its erstwhile Chairman and immediately declare the assets of every functionary of KPK Government, including its turncoat CM. We want to deduce ourselves as to how much Pervez Khattak is worth and how much he has paid in taxes. Total non-sense, a Chief Minister time is far more valuable than using a helicopter. What about all the expenses of road travel for a CM, security cost, time cost for all security personnel. This is more like a publicity stunt to not use a heli.

When Imran Khan said he will manage everybody on his team & that they will follow rules - he meant it (though cynics doubted it). Today Imran Khan has turned the same status-quo politician Khattak into a person who is accountable to the public & the party. Also PTI is the only party where its supporters - trolls as cynics call them - raised voice against the unethical step of their own CM. This is the CHANGE Imran Khan promised & this is what youth believed in. He didn't claim he would make his party's MNAs/MPAs/CM angels (free of sins) but would hold them accountable & make them follow rules - here is an example for all to see.
