Police operation: 300 suspects arrested from Peshawar

Police has directed all motorcycle dealers not to sell bikes to anyone without proper registration, says an official.

PESHAWAR: Around 300 suspects were arrested by Pharipura police and Fariqabad police during a crackdown in their respective jurisdictions on Wednesday. Superintendent Police Khalid Hamdani told media personnel the operation was launched at 3am and continued till 11am. The official said following militants’ new strategy of attacking from motorcycles and escaping, police had directed all motorcycle dealers not to sell bikes to anyone without proper registration. The crackdown operation was conducted following the killing of DSP traffic Amanalluh and his driver Amjad in Faqirabad on Monday and the firing incidents on a police checkpoint at GT Road on Tuesday.
